Adding injury to insult after the Bulls were humiliated to the tune of 41-19 by the Crusaders in Christchurch, three player (all Springboks) will play no further part in their tour.

Centre Wynand Olivier suffered knee ligament damage during the heavy defeat, while Bok scrumhalf Francois Hougaard picked up an ankle injury and wing Akona Ndungane an eye-socket fracture. All three are on their way back to the Republic as we speak. Olivier and Ndungane are expected to each face a month on the sidelines, with Hougaard expected back in around half that time.

Replacing the trio are centre Frans Venter, scrumhalf Ruan Snyman and wing Bjorn Basson, who is fit again after picking up an ankle injury against the Force at Loftus. The Bulls plays the Reds in Brisbane this weekend.
