Having already lost Steven Kitshoff to a one-week suspension, the Stormers are holding their breath over another key front-row man, hooker Tiaan Liebenberg, ahead of this weekend’s crunch Super Rugby game against the Crusaders in Cape Town.
According to a report in Die Burger, Liebenberg, who has only recently returned to fitness after a serious injury last year, hurt his elbow during last weekend’s win over the Brumbies and will undergo a scan today to determine the severity of the injury. The fear at this stage is that the big Bok hooker may be sidelined not only for the Crusaders game, but for at least another month after that as well.
It’s expected that former Lion (and Shark) Pat Cilliers will come in for Kitshoff, with Deon Fourie set to replace Liebenberg against the Crusaders if the latter is indeed ruled out. The visitors will themselves be missing two key men in eighthman Kieran Read and flyhalf Daniel Carter.

Its Wednesday today, that scan should have been done a long time ago (relatively speaking)
It will be a big blow not having Liebenberg and Kitshoff in the team but then I think Stormers can count themselves lucky that they are only going to be without Ginger for 1 game.
Liebenberg confirmed out.

That tackle was nasty and I think he’s lucky to have only got a 1 week ban. He could have paralysed Tamooa.
