Rebels flyhalf Kurtley Beale has given up rugby in an attempt to fix his booze problems.
The most recent incident in a chequered playing career came in Durban this weekend, where Beale assaulted team members whilst drunk and was duly sent home from the tour party as a result.
He will now stand down indefinitely and seek counseling to help him solve his off-field issues, before perhaps returning to the game in the future.
“This is an important step for Kurtley and ARU feels an obligation to assist in ensuring, regardless of Rugby, that he moves forward in a positive manner,” said ARU CEO Bill Pulver.
“He knows he needs to be accountable for his actions, and he is determined to overcome the challenges he has faced in recent times.”

Good call.
Wish I had a job where I could just take some time out to sort out my life.
MysticShark you can have a job like that just work on your rugby and boxing skills.
@JD (Comment 3) : and your drinking
Hope he gets the help he needs. Very difficult to overcome.
