In a bit of bad news for the team, Sharks centre Tim Whitehead is in danger of missing the Antipodean tour as the result of a worse-than-expected recovery from his forearm fracture.
It was initially reported that Whitehead would make his return to the side for this weekend’s game against the Crusaders, but it now seems that the fracture has not responded as hoped and the arm will probably need to be reset.
Coach John Plumtree revealed that all of Butch James, Bismarck du Plessis, Willem Alberts and Jean Deysel should recover in time to tour, but Whitehead might only come into contention for the Australian leg, if at all.

FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

@robdylan (Comment 2) : NNNNNOOOOO
Why do injuries these days never heal properly and the guys end up spending more weeks on the sidelines? Is this a specialist issue or what?
@shaniboi (Comment 4) : Too much Rugby.. A very long season, and players probably “rushed” back because of what is on the line in this competition.
This sucks!!!!!!!!!! Timmy and Jordaan is our best, we need them
And I was so looking forward to see Whitehead partner Jordaan in the midfield soon. Aaaarrrrgghhh!!!
Scary how quickly injuries can deplete a decent looking squad
@shaniboi (Comment 4) : no players are rushed back to quickly. Should play some Vodacom cup first and then go back to super rugby.
