The Bulls welcome back a number of injured stalwarts for the weekend clash against the Cheetahs.
In an unenforced change, Frik Kirsten take over from Werner Kruger at tight head prop, while Flip van der Merwe, fit again at number 4, replaces Paul Willemse in the other change to the starting pack.
Akona Ndungane is also fit again and starts at right wing; Jurgen Visser moves into the fullback jersey vacated by the injure Zane Kirchner.
15 Jürgen Visser, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 JJ Engelbrecht, 12 Jan Serfontein, 11 Lionel Mapoe, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Jano Vermaak, 8 Pierre Spies (captain), 7 Dewald Potgieter, 6 Deon Stegmann, 5 Juandré Kruger, 4 Flip van der Merwe, 3 Frik Kirsten, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Morné Mellet
Substitutes: 16 Callie Visagie, 17 Werner Kruger, 18 Paul Willemse, 19 Arno Botha, 20 Rudy Paige, 21 Louis Fouchè, 22 Ulrich Beyers

Any relation to the cricket Kirsten’s?
@Uli (Comment 1) : Doubt it, he is Afrikaans and a groot seun at 120kg
@Saffex (Comment 2) : lol
How the hell can Ludeke leave out the Bulls best loosie in Arno Botha?
Good to see Frik Kirsten ahead of the average Werner Kruger at 3. Given how average Juandre Kruger has been, I would liked to have seen Willemse tried at 5.
Not sure why Ndungane is starting. Young Ulrich Beyers is a quality youngster who plays 15, 13 or wing…..he would have been a better option on the wing.
Good to see Lions loan player Callie Visagie on the bench, he is a quality hooker, far better than Wepner
Come On Cheetahs!!! 😈
I bet if Jurgen Visser get a few starts with Kirchner out, he will make it very hard for Zane to just take that position back. I don’t know whether I make that remark based on the feeling that Visser has something special, or just that I don’t really rate Kirchner.
@Letgo (Comment 6) : Visser is very good. Likes to counter and has that knack of being able to slip tackles. Ulrich Beyers, who is on the Bulls bench is another good fullback. He really impressed me when he played 15 for the Baby Boks two years ago
