Former Stormer Demetri Catrikilis returns to the Kings starting lineup in the number 10 jersey, as the Super Rugby new boys chase a maiden away victory against the Rebels in Melbourne.
The Kings were disrupted before kick-off against the Brumbies and were forced to make some last-minute switches to their team; notwithstanding those, they showed huge guts and heart to fight their way to a 28-all draw, outscoring their hosts by four tries to two in the process. Any sort of victory against the hitherto uninspiring Rebels will leave the Kings in the unprecedented position of returning from Australia undefeated in their first ever tour there.
Catrikilis’s return sees George Whitehead move back to fullback, with Siviwe Soyzwapi dropping to the bench. The only other change to the team comes at scrumhalf, with Shaun Venter starting at the expense of Nicolas Vergallo.
Southern Kings: 15 George Whitehead, 14 Sergeal Petersen, 13 Waylon Murray, 12 Andries Strauss (captain), 11 Ronnie Cooke, 10 Demetri Catrakilis, 9 Shaun Venter, 8 Cornell du Preez, 7 Wimpie van der Walt, 6 Devin Oosthuizen, 5 Rynier Bernardo, 4 Steven Sykes, 3 Grant Kemp, 2 Hannes Franklin, 1 Schalk Ferreira.
Replacements: 16 Bandise Maku, 17 Kevin Buys, 18 David Bulbring, 19 Jacques Engelbrecht, 20 Nicolas Vergallo, 21 Marcello Sampson, 22 Siviwe Soyzwapi.

Awe… Demetri Catrakilis 😛 haha!
Dangerous back line and plenty of artillery in the pack. They can win the Rebels.
Even though all of us hate the way the Queens got their shot at SupeRugby, and even though Cheeky is a monumental douche, you can’t help but to start supporting the Queens when they play. If the Sharks had just 50% they would be unbeatable.
@KingRiaan (Comment 3) : Not all of us hate the way they got their shot at SR – they got it the same way all the other teams got it.
@MysticShark (Comment 4) : exactly, could someone tell how they were ever gonna be able to retain the talent if they were not given a franchise. GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!! 😎
So much for promoting rugby with the “NEW SA”…..
If I am not wrong that is the reason they got a shot in the first place. Now they even have to many players from diffrent countries and still they do not even feel a fly for the rules…. I can not believe everyone just love the Kings…. Go REBELS….. Teach these boytjies a rugby lesson…..
@Lassy_lion (Comment 6) : Even if Kings get taught a rugby lesson, the Kings will also dish 1 out in the promotion relegation game
@Lassy_lion (Comment 6) : I also hatted the kings, but the way they are playing is winning me over, they play with way more hart than the lions ever did.
Leeus beter lig loop in die p/r game
Go Kings
