A late change to the Sharks team to face the Stormers tomorrow should see Tera Mtembu replace Jean Deysel on the bench.
Talk coming from Durban is that Deysel is not quite ready to play and has had to cry off at the last minute, with former Blitzbok Mtembu set to earn only his second Super Rugby cap if he takes the field. It’s rather ironic that Mtembu’s only other appearance in Super Rugby came during the corresponding fixture last year, against the Stormers in Cape Town.
The Sharks have yet to confirm the change.
Sharks (revised): 15 Frans Steyn, 14 Sean Robinson, 13 Paul Jordaan, 12 Meyer Bosman, 11 JP Pietersen, 10 Pat Lambie, 9 Cobus Reinach, 8 Keegan Daniel (capt), 7 Ryan Kankowski, 6 Marcell Coetzee, 5 Franco van der Merwe, 4 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 3 Jannie du Plessis, 2 Kyle Cooper, 1 Beast Mtawarira
Subs: 16 Craig Burden, 17 Wiehahn Herbst, 18 Anton Bresler, 19 Lubabalo Mtembu, 20 Charl McLeod, 21 Riaan Viljoen, 22 Odwa Ndungane

Oh man, not particularly grand news. Was looking forward to seeing yster back on the field ay. Well hopefully the youngster impresses in the second half, but hopefully we won’t even need to play him lol.
Rob, you seem to enjoy including the term “cry off” in your writings of late
@vanmartin (Comment 2) : sorry, guess I’ve got stuck in a rut đŸ™‚
@robdylan (Comment 3) : No worries, just found it interesting that I’m not the only one who does this.
How good is your source?
@David12246 (Comment 5) : impeccable. Multiple sources. All in agreement. One of them could be considered “the horse” in this case.
They’ve decided Deysel needs one more week, basically. Call was made this morning
Huge blow…Cooper, Du Toit and Coetzee are going to have to do a lot of work tomorrow.
Yes Coetzee, du toit etc will need big games as carriers but surely the beast can perform a carrying role as well. He used to be one of the most destructive carriers out there and we know he has the power!
