Thanks once again go to the Sharks Rugby Union for providing an awesome video highlights package from the untelevised Vodacom Cup game between the Sharks XV and the Pampas XV, at Kings Park on Friday.
Marius Joubert’s team scored five tries en-route to a 46-31 that was sewn up by half time, despite a late Pampas fightback adding some respectability to the scoreline. Bok number 8 Willem Alberst scored two of the tries and enjoyed a good 60-minute hit-out in his first game of the season after shoulder surgery.
The result sees teh Sharks XV top the South Section log at the end of round robin games, with only a single loss in seven starts. They face the Lions in the quarter finals, at Kings Park.
Sharks XV – Tries: Kotaro Matsushima, Willem Alberts (2), Robbie Harris, Marius Joubert, Jaco van Tonder; Conversions: Fred Zeilinga (5); Penalties: Zeilinga (2).
ICBC Pampas XV – Tries: Ramiro Moyano, Leonardo Senatore, Juan Pablo Estelles (2), Mariano Galarza; Conversions: Benjamín Madero (2), Santiago Gonzalez.

Good to see Alberts back. Well played Sharkies!
Yip Alberts got a good 60 minutes, it will be good to see him play for the Sharks after the tour.
Or if injuries continues like they have, maybe even before that.
Unfortunately we can’t sent keegan and Marcell back just because they’re not playing well and it would suck to see either one of them add to our injury list, so I guess they’ll just have to step it up.
Alberts huffing and puffing there a bit. 😐
Might need a few games or so to get back into it.
Looks like the Sharks vs Lions quarterfinal won’t be televised either…me not happy!
@walter van Lions World (Comment 4) : seriously? What a disaster
They are only showing one of the quarterfinals live, Pumas vs Pampas. Doesn’t make sense…..
@walter van Lions World (Comment 6) : what’s the vibe like in Jozi?
The winner of the Sharks vs Lions match gets a home-semi so I’m pretty sure we are aiming to win this, also the team is on a high after the record 161-3 win over the Limpopo Blue Bulls. 25 tries and Volmink got 9, but he was handed the last one on a plate when Helberg passed the ball to him in the in goal area
unfortunately there’s no way we can get a home final though
@walter van Lions World (Comment 8) : how does that work, that you’d get a home semi as 4th-placed qualifier?
I’m secretly hoping you okes are nice and puffed up after that big victory over the blind school 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 10) :
Vodacom Cup rules:
North 1 (Pumas) versus South 4 (Pampas) Winner A
South 1(Sharks) versus North 4 (Lions) Winner B
North 2 (Blue Bulls) versus South 3 (EP Kings) Winner C
South 2 (WP) versus North 3 (Griekwas) Winner D
Winner A (Pumas / Pampas) versus Winner C (Blue Bulls / EP Kings)
Winner B (Sharks / Lions) versus Winner D (WP / Griekwas)
They obviously don’t expect the 4th placed northern team to beat the 1st placed Southern team, so the thinking was to give the 1st placed southern team a home semi, but if the 4th placed northern team wins they get the home semi…LOL!
@walter van Lions World (Comment 12) : ok, so it’s kind of all at stake… I like that to an extent.
