The Bulls have released an amended team-sheet for Saturday’s clash against the Sharks in Durban, admitting that an “administrative error” of sorts resulted in the wrong tighthead prop being picked for the match.

Bok prop Werner Kruger certainly isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and eyebrow’s were certainly raised when he was included in the all-important number 3 jersey, ahead of a young man in arguably far better form, Frik Kirsten. In the updated team sheet, it’s Kirsten who’s starting and Kruger who’s benching, rather than the other way round.

Jan Serfontein and Louis Fouche are additionally both battling fitness concerns and have been bracketed together on the bench, the Bulls seemingly taking a gamble that at least one of them will be fit enough to play.

Bulls: 15 Jürgen Visser, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 JJ Engelbrecht, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Francois Hougaard, 8 Pierre Spies (captain), 7 Dewald Potgieter, 6 Deon Stegmann, 5 Juandré Kruger, 4 Flip van der Merwe, 3 Frik Kirsten, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Dean Greyling.
Replacements: 16 Willie Wepener, 17 Werner Kruger, 18 Grant Hattingh, 19 Arno Botha, 20 Jano Vermaak, 21 Louis Fouché/Jan Serfontein, 22 Lionel Mapoe.

  • Who cares Beast will demolish both of them ………………… I hope!!!! Hope Fouche plays as Serfontein will be dangerous if he plays.
