Reports this morning indicate that Jan Serfontein has withdrawn from the Baby Boks squad to join the senior side.
Rugby365.com reports that Serfontein has been replaced by Rohan Janse van Rensburg in the South Africa Under 20 squad, ahead of their defence of the Junior Wolrd Championship.
It is reported that Serfontein joined the training squad in Durban, which concluded yesterday.
Should these reports carry any truth, Serfontein is likely to start in the first test against Italy, joining captain Jean de Villiers in midfield.

He’ll get playtime for sure.
In other news, I see Anton Bresler is going in for a shoulder op this morning.
@PTAShark (Comment 1) : it just never stops does it… wtf is going on at the sharks?
Will Serfontein slot in at 13? He’s been playing 12 all season.
Pity he’s not playing for the Baby Boks. Could have done with his experience in the side. Hopefully he gets a solid run against Italy
@Uli (Comment 2) : No idea! Strange that he injured his shoulder last week and only now going for his op.
@PTAShark (Comment 1) : Something tells me Ebersohn should start ahead of him.
@slammerboy (Comment 3) : If he does play, he will play at 12 with de Villiers at 13.
And STILL no place for the top try scorer of last year’s u19 Currie Cup
@Uli (Comment 2) : We have a new team doctor this year and I’m convinced the management of players’ fitness is seriously off. We need someone new, because this guy isn’t working.
I think it’s bull! He should be playing for the baby Boks.
@David12246 (Comment 5) :Agree! HM favouring his Bulls.
As long as we don’t see a midfield combination involving Habana at 13 I don’t have a problem with his inclusion.
@GreatSharksays (Comment 9) : surprised Tyle Fisher wasn’t called up or is it because his favourite colour isn’t blue….
