The Sharks’ injury curse continues unabated, with the news that lock forward Anton Bresler will undergo surgery on his troublesome shoulder this morning.
Bresler was withdrawn from the side to face the Bulls after aggravating the chronic problem at training last week, with a scan on Monday confirming the presence of a labrum tear, which requires surgical correction. It’s expected that he’ll be on the sidelines for anything up to three months, meaning no further play in this years failed Super Rugby campaign.
More worrying is that Bresler is likely to miss the opening month of the Currie Cup too, leaving the Sharks desperately short of second row options.
We’d like to wish Anton all the best for a successful procedure and rehabilitation.

🙄
Hope he heals up well!
I hope the surgery went well. All of the best.
Surgery went well, Bresler is doing fine. Being discharged this morning.
