Brenden Nel, writing for SuperSport.com, reckons Ryan Kankowski may not be the only Sharks Super Rugby player in contention for the upcoming Sevens World Cup.
A few months back, after Sibusiso Sithole’s unfortunate axing from the Sharks’ Super Rugby squad, I wrote an article suggesting that a stint back in Sevens might be just the thing to help the player get his confidence back. While I was sure to share that piece of writing with Blitzbok coach Paul Treu, I’m not going to take sole credit for what has happened; however, if Nel’s sources are correct (and they usually are), it seems that Sithole will indeed be included in the extended squad from which Treu will select his World Cup team.
A number of other “15s regulars”, including Kankowski, Rayno Benjamin, Shaun Adendorff and Sampie Mastriet, will also be in the extended group, but Treu will apparently be careful not to disrupt team harmony by including too many outsiders at this stage, particularly if their sevens skills aren’t up to scratch.

Maybe Kanko should set his sights on a Olympic gold medal.
Would be good for both players.
S’bura was always going to be involved with the Sevens world cup if The Sharks were not using him…which has been the case.
Tera would also have been involved had he not taken his superugby chances so well.
I’m very happy that he has taken his chances and he looks set to be a great number 8 for The Sharks going forward. He made the step up, which i wasn’t sure he could do; but i am so happy to be eating humble pie on this one.
Bissie for Sharks captain and Tera to start at 8 😉

What’s your basis for saying that?
Sampie Mastriet should have stayed with the 7s squad in the first place, that lad could be a 7s giant
Whats Kabamba Floors up to these days?
Sevens is a good place to learn or better core skills. We should send our coaches there.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 7) : I found him…. captaining SWD in the CC first division, it seems
