@Richard Ferguson (Comment 67) : At least they can give it a good go. 175 is a lot better than 110.

England to win at a canter.
Comment 69, posted at 19.06.13 14:48:53 by McLovin
So glad there’s a team like the protea’s otherwise the Sharks would have been the biggest “chokers”.
Comment 70, posted at 19.06.13 17:16:22 by JD
It’s a pity that the Windies didn’t make it through. At least this would have been a contest then. With too few exceptions, both our batting and bowling are equally rubbish.

Whoever lost the toss this morning was in trouble.
I dont live far from the ground and it was muggy and humid as all hell this morning; a veritable swingers paradise.
The sun came out just as Miller got to the crease and the batting got a lot easier then.
Comment 72, posted at 19.06.13 17:30:37 by VinChainSaw
@VinChainSaw (Comment 72) : That was only an issue in three of the wickets (Miller, de Villiers and Peterson).
Amla mis-judged a leave, Du Plessis, Duminy and Morris got done by the spinner, McLaren was run out and Kleinveldt and Tsotsobe were bounced out by Broad.
All the commentators agreed that the toss wasn’t THAT crucial in deciding the outcome of the game.

Are we really debating why the Proteas lost yet another semi-final of some who-cares competition?
Have we not learned anything about the Proteas and that word “semi-final”? 😆
Comment 74, posted at 19.06.13 21:09:17 by FireTheLooser
FireTheLooser it’s actually real easy the Proteas are $h!t in limited over games, they can only play 5 day cricket.
SA 4/2 after 2 overs.
Lost Ingram first over, LBW to Anderson.
Amla out in the second over, caught Buttler, bowled Finn.
Ingram out for 0 and Amla back in the hut after scoring 1.
Robin Peterson and Faf du Plessis at the crease.
glad to see the Proteas have brought their typical “semi-final” game.
@robdylan (Comment 4) :
Yup.. fantastic start!
Ai. And no Dale Stern either…
Robin Petersen… I like the guy, but pinning our hopes on a batsman that has a high score of 68 in ODIs is asking a bit much…
Faf, AB, duminy and Miller still to come though…
Ja jislaaik ouens KAK start! Guess the chocker tag stays?
@VinChainSaw (Comment 6) :
Should have mentioned that.
Kleinveldt in for an injured Dale Steyn..
@VinChainSaw (Comment 7) :
That 68 coming in one of the games in this tournament, after pushing him to third.
Not a bad ploy to increase the run rate, but very risky and could expose us later on in the match when nobody is left to bat with the bowlers..
16/2 after 5 overs
Three consecutive 4’s from Peterson gets the Proteas scoreboard ticking:
29/2 after 6
37/2 after 8 overs.
Peterson attacking, SA run rate up nicely..
C’mon England! 😈
45/2 after 10 overs
Peterson 30
du Plessis 11
Peterson out for 30
SA 45/3 after 10.5 overs
Anderson bowling beautifully.
5.5 overs, 2 wickets, 10 runs
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 17) : Best in the world.
Roll out the excuses so long. No doubt we will be told by the Proteas & co that ‘ no we don’t choke’. 😆
Wow 51/4 super start!!!!
52/4 after 15 overs..
AB de Villiers out for a duck, caught Buttler, bowled Broad.
Duminy given out first ball LBW, but reviewed it and the decision was overturned..
Going to be a good week to be English.
Juniors to win the rugby. Cricket winning the Champions trophy. And Lions to spank the convicts. 😈
Duminy out for 3.
SA 63/5 after 16.5 overs
And now he’s gone. Think Duminy did not score 10 runs in the whole competition. So the choke starts.
@JD (Comment 26) :
Scored 43 runs in total..
@McLovin (Comment 24) : hey – what a happy coincidence. Turns out that I am English now 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 28) : And a winner.
du Plessis out for 26.
SA 70/6 after 18.4 overs
Thanx Richard, and there goes Faf. Really not good enough!!!!!
Keeper Buttler takes his third catch, Tredwell gets his second wicket.
We need the big hitters to just go for it now.
No use waiting until we are 9 down to start hitting.
Now is the time!
70/6 😆 embarrassing
76/6 after 20 overs.
Make that 76/7
McLaren gone for 1.
SA 76/7
England appeal for LBW, McLaren out of his crease is run out by Trott..
Bad to worse..
Game to be done at 14h00?!?!?!
@rhineshark (Comment 36) : @Richard Ferguson (Comment 37) : So predictable.
This is why I prefer 5 day cricket, no semi-final for the Proteas to choke on.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 40) : I used to be a big ODI fan, but lately I don’t really care whether we win or lose. Same with T20.
As long as we remain number 1 in test cricket I’m happy.
Not at all unexpected….oh well!
Aaaaand another one gone, another one gone, another one bites the dust….
80/8
Morris out for 3.
80/8 after 22.3 overs
Buttler with another catch, Tredwell another wicket..
😆 😆 😆 😆
🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
😥 😥 😥 😥
Must be a record of some sort.
At least Nigella will have empathy… 👿
C…C…C…ccccccccc
@VinChainSaw (Comment 49) : hhhhh…..
@VinChainSaw (Comment 49) : Cunnilingus?
Scrum down!!!!
@rhineshark (Comment 51) :
If only.
The tail is wagging….
@VinChainSaw (Comment 53) : 😀
100 up for SA.
100/8 after 25.4 overs
124/8 after 30 overs..
152/8 after 35 overs
Slight come back here, might put up a half decent total after all..
We will have to bowl extremely well to give ourselves half a chance!
At least Miller has finally come to the party. Kleinveldt is also doing well.
Unfortunately should one of these wickets fall, it will be the end.
167/8 is about 60 more than I expected a few overs ago
Kleinveldt out for 43..
SA 175/9 after 38.3 overs
Kleinveldt gone at 175/9. Doubt we will manage 200 now
Buttler with his fifth catch, Broad picking up his second wicket
175 all out
Buttler with six catches in the innings, Broad ending with three wickets
Not enough to defend without Steyn
@Bokhoring (Comment 66) :
Six catches behind indicate some movement off the pitch.
If Tsotsobe and Morris can get swing, it might not be all lost!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 67) : At least they can give it a good go. 175 is a lot better than 110.
