The first round of Super Rugby following the break has claimed a few lives in terms of injuries, with the Bulls losing a pivot and the Stormers losing a loosie.
Louis Fouche and Siya Kolisi are the biggest injuries after this weekend’s matches, Fouche being ruled out for six months with torn knee ligaments. This should bring a smile to all those who rate Handre Pollard, as he is the only other flyhalf left in the province.
Kolisi tore ankle ligaments which rules him out of action for six weeks, meaning we won’t see him taking any further part in Super Rugby, but could well be available to continue in the Springbok setup.
Over at the Cheetahs, coach Naka Drotske is worrying over the fitness of Coenie Oosthuizen. Coenie took a knock to his knee in the loss to the Stormers, and is worse than initially thought. He will be given until Friday to prove his fitness for the match against the Blues in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
The Cheetahs were without Hennie Daniller this weekend, who pulled out of the match late which saw Sarel Pretorius play on the wing. This weekend, they have Rayno Benjamin back from Sevens duty, while news about Daniller’s injury looks to make him doubtful for the match.

No fresh injuries for the Sharks ? That must be a first for the season… 😛
Too much info about Stormers.
This is a Sharksworld site which used to give upfront and exclusive info on The Sharks.
The stuff about Stormers is freely available on all the other sites.
PLEASE do not lose your focus
@DaveB (Comment 2) : hi Dave
You know that the Sharks are our first and biggest priority. That said, we cover news relating to all South African teams.
Rest assured, as soon as there is any relevant news related to the Sharks, we will be sure to cover it (to death). Info is a bit slow these days, though… seems folks are ducking and diving!
@robdylan (Comment 3) : Thanks Rob …sorry I sounded off but for my sins I have been running the Sharks supporters club down in CT for the past 10 years.
I get Stormers down my throat from morning till night. Then I found Sharksworld which gave me quick fast Sharks news.
Just did not like the two consequitive Stormers articles on the site.
Sorry for the whinge !!
Awesome article only because there is no new Shark injuries
@DaveB (Comment 4) : that’s ok my boy… no need to apologise. Hell, we are all waiting with baited breath to see what Barney’s first move is going to be, but it’s only his second day there.
Have to point out that this isn’t a Stormers article, per se….
Any news on injury returns for the Sharks? Steyn? Whitehead? du Toit?
@David12246 (Comment 7) : no, nothing.
and if you ask, you get given the wrong information, then get told that you’re being told out of courtesy.
@robdylan (Comment 8) : Any whispers about announcements on contract renegotiations yet?
