Edinburgh have announced that they have secured the services of current Southern Kings director of rugby Alan Solomons.
Solomons will arrive in the Scottish capital on the 9th August, just a week after the Kings’ second Super Rugby promotion-relegation play-off against the Lions at Ellis Park (Kick-off at 17h00 local time). This will be Solomons’ final game in charge of the Eastern Cape franchise that has had a very up and down first Super Rugby season.
David Davis, the Edinburgh Managing Director, was quoted saying that he is delighted with the appointment and that he is pleased that they were able to retain the services of current interim coach Stevie Scott.
‘I’m confident they (Solomons and Scott) will provide the foundations for our long-term objective of becoming a force on the domestic and European stage.’ Said
The Kings go into the 2nd playoff having lost the 1st leg 19-26.

Possibly a bad call to announce it the week of the promotion/relegation match don’t you think?
