  • Very poor Argies!

As far as im concerned Du Preez was outstanding when he came on. He lifted the tempo.

Other than that you cant read much into this game. I thought Kolisi was awesome when he came on, he added some athleticism to our loose forwards that had been missing.

  • @robdylan (Comment 14) : Still 20… Her Majesty will make sure Lambie has no other choice but to give in and move to fullback.

  • Good performance by the Boks, but mostly due to the worst display I’ve seen from the Argies in years.

Du Preez was phenomenal. If I didn’t follow rugby I would never have known he’d been playing in Japan for 2 years!

The only change I’d make to the starting line up for next weeks is to remove Basson. He brings nothing to the game in my opinion.

  • Agreed Basson can go and Habana to kids class to learn how to catch a ball.It was’nt just this game he fumbled and bumbled. Ruan is definately not the best option at 9 – Fourie du Preez needs a good understudy NOW.

  • @Caratacus (Comment 23) : Perhaps a certain Cobus Reinach?

Was JP Pietersen injured or was he excluded solely because of his Japanese excursion? He’s the best wing in the country – how can you justify selecting others who are leaving (Steyn, etc) and then refuse to select JP?

  • @MerckZ (Comment 24) : as much as I like JP, there’s no chance he’s a better winger in SA. 2nd best? Definitely. Habana remains the premier wing, probably the best this country has ever produced. That said I’m a youngster, might be wrong

  • @MerckZ (Comment 24) : I’m pretty sure JP’s Japan contract prevents him from playing in the Rugby Champ. He can only play in June and November.

So apparently Trevor has been a naughty boy and has been dropped! I’m really intrigued as to what he did 😆

  • @SeanyJMc (Comment 21) : Agreed, Basson is not a test wing, physically not up to it. Juandre Kruger is another who needs to be discarded.

  • I was not to keen on Fourie du Preez playing for the Boks, but he silenced me with that display. I have not seen a single 9 of the current crop even come close to that.

I thought Pienaar had one of his better games, but du Preez was still light years ahead.

  • Does anyone know who took over the captaincy when JDV left the field? It looked like it was Bismarck who was calling the shots but I didn’t hear anything said about it during the game.
