Griquas coach Pote Human has made some changes to his team ahead of this weekend’s Currie Cup clash against Western Province. After a fortnight on the road, that has netted them a 50% return, the men in peacock blue will be at home in Kimberley for the first time in the competition.

Hilton Lobberts shifts from lock to flank this week, in a move possibly aimed at combating Province’s impressive blindside Rynhardt Elstadt. Jonathan Adendorf moves the other way, coming into the number 5 jersey, with Jaco Nepgen moving from 5 to 4. The other change to the pack sees Nic Schonert start at tighthead, with Lourens Adriaanse called up by the Boks.

The only backline changes see PJ Vermuelen move to fullback to replace Gouws Prinsloo, with Rocco Jansen moving up into the starting line-up at wing and a rotational change at scrumhalf. Prop Brummer Badenhorst and utility back Richard Lawson are the new faces in the match 22.

Griquas: 15 PJ Vermeulen, 14 Nico Scheepers, 13 JP Nel, 12 Howard Mnisi, 11 Rocco Jansen, 10 Francois Brummer, 9 Marnus Hugo, 8 Leon Karemaker, 7 Hilton Lobberts, 6 Carel Greeff, 5 Jonathan Adendorf, 4 Jaco Nepgen, 3 Nic Schonert, 2 Ryno Barnes (cap1), 1 Steph Roberts.
Subs: 16 Matt Dobson, 17 Brummer Badenhorst, 18 RJ Liebenberg, 19 Burger Schoeman, 20 Jacques Coetzee, 21 Du Randt Gerber, 22 Richard Lawson
