DHL Western Province coach Allister Coetsee today named his squad to face the Griquas in Kimberley.
Bok discard Juan de Jongh makes an immediate return to the starting lineup , Pat Howard who is suffering from a hamstring strain drops out of the matchday 22 completely. The other changes to the starting lineup include tighthead prop Pat Cilliers making his starting Currie Cup debut for Western Province at the expense of Brok Harris and Kurt Coleman winning his first start due to Gary van Aswegen being bitten by the injury bug (shoulder ) once again.
The home team are not known for making things easy for their visitors and Western Province will be looking to Elstadt and Rhodes to get them over the gain line while the coaches will be hoping that Steven Kitshoff can put in another impressive showing at scrum time like he did against the Cheetahs last weekend
The bench has a 4 – 3 split with Tiaan Liebenberg probably chomping at the bit to get into Saturdays actions. Tim Swiel takes up a seat on the bench and will make his senior debut should he take the field

@pete69 (Comment 1) : mmm tough call for me… what do you recon between bulls and lions?
Ouens, who is Rohan Kitshoff? Family of Steven?
Speaking of being “bitten”. Did anything come of the incident where a Griqua player was bitten in the Province game. Kaplan made a concerted effort of getting the TV cameraman to get an image of the bite mark. I imagined CSA Cape Town / SARU getting involved, but then again why would they investigate their own.
@Salmonoid the Subtle (Comment 4) :
The Province game? As in the game thats going to be played this weekend?
@R Hayward (Comment 3) : Steven who? 😉
@R Hayward (Comment 3) :
Namibian but went to school in Worcester.
Dont think he’s related to Big Steve.
@McLovin (Comment 6) :
Wash your mouth out. Thats your future Bok loosehead you’re talking about!
Any team that can afford to bench the mighty Brok must be pretty strong…
@VinChainSaw (Comment 9) :
You don’t drive the Ferrari to the corner cafe.
@VinChainSaw (Comment 8) : Was meant to be a humorous, dof question as it should be quite obvious what his surname is.
I predict there will be more than one groot gat in Kimberley this weekend. And they will all be wearing poublou. 😈
@R Hayward (Comment 3) : Not family of Steve, Namibian international who played for WP for a few years and then went to France. Looks like it didn’t work out
@VinChainSaw (Comment 5) : Sorry, my bad – one blikoor looks like another to me 😈 . No it was the WP vs Cheetahs game, last weekend.
Like the look of that team ! But must say some odd selections .Rhodes and Elstadt? Aplon at FB and Kolbe at wing?
Kolbe probably a bit green to put straight under the high ball ,considering his size?
I think the sharks should have held onto Rhodes. I am going for a bulls win this weekend.
@pete69 (Comment 16) : and who would he replace at the Sharks. The reason he left was to get game time. We still have more loosies than you could shake a stick at.
