IF ONLY WE COULD SCRUM
eish. Good start. Less good finish. 40 huge minutes ahead. Season defining?
@DBOY (Comment 23) : We can only scrum every second game. This is our off week.
@robdylan (Comment 24) : Character defining.
@DBOY (Comment 23) : do you know that your caps lock key is on? π
@robdylan (Comment 27) : π
Lets hope Sharks continue the season pattern of producing better 2nd half performances.
We are in deep shit at scrum time. We should avoid any knocks and ask the Lions to do the same.
@robdylan (Comment 27) : NOPE. WAS CONCENTRATING ON THE GAME
Zeilinga is having a great game, but his defense has let him down a few times tonight.
@rhineshark
SP Jou doring!!!

Quick thinking by Charl!
My fingernails are taking damage.
Nice try! Quick tap has worked wonders tonight.
ZEILINGA MISSING ANOTHER KICK. AFTER THE GOOD BRAKE MCLEOD GOES OFF
Nice work Mtembu!
And now the lineouts at a crucial stage. π
@rhineshark (Comment 39) : Cooper…
@DBOY (Comment 40) : ANY Sharks hooker, including Bissie, Smit, etc. It’s a historically chronic issue.
We’re not going to win the CC without our Bok front row and decent locks.
The Lions just seem to score too easily when it matters.
Hard to play without a bankable set piece.
@DBOY (Comment 37) :
Caps lock is quite annoying.
REINACH!!
Reinach!!!!!!!!
Reinach you wizard! π

We win a truly brilliant game of rugby
π
YES!!!!!!
Yes yes yes! Oh my god. What a game.
@DBOY (Comment 65) : Didn’t notice. (Not being arsed with the shift key has its advantages it seems ;-)) We should buy him a CNA voucher or something.
What a game! This was as tense as a final. Holy crap!
Well done Sharkies!
Character = Shown. π
Here pussy pussy! π
that’ll do, Sharks. That’ll do
Well done Sharks
Rotation policy seems to be working.
@robdylan (Comment 77) : Sentences start with capital letters, please.
@rhineshark (Comment 75) : Oh for sure! The boys showed some awesome character out there tonight. Considering what the lions did to our set pieces and the speed of the game at altitude, they dug deep.
@gregkaos (Comment 81) : Perfectly summed up! I must admit that I had my reservations a few times during the game whether we had the character to pull through. Happy to have been proved wrong!
π Can not wait to see Barney Simon in his Sharks shirt tomorrow!
@gregkaos (Comment 81) : The Lions had us in the shallows but thanks to some guts we pulled them back into the deep! We do need a quality forwards coach though. This is not a pack performance with which to show up for semis!
@KILLER SHARK (Comment 84) : yeah I agree. That Lions pack putting in a massive well synced shove as the ball went in. CJ was scrumming like a demon. As for Franco, he may as well have been calling our lineouts.
Lions scrum went backwards fast when CJ went off…. I reckon he was scrumming in on Herbst
@robdylan (Comment 86) : Watched the parts of the re run of the game again. And yeah definitely looked like CJ was scrumming in and up. When CJ came off there was an immediate shift in in scrum power and the Lions were clearly wheeling the scrum around. This tactic,however, did not go unnoticed by Jafta the whole game.
The Sharks got pinged early for doing this when we were going backwards but we promptly stopped trying to get away with it. Some serious credit needs to go to Keegan on how he got the ball from our backpedaling scrum and still somehow managed to get forward momentum.
I bet the Aussies are wishing they had someone like him today!! π
@gregkaos (Comment 87) : Now that to me is what sets a great eighth man apart from the typical eighth man.
Very few eighth-men are able to get the ball out without knocking it on, let alone gain forward momentum from a back peddling scrum.
An eighth man like that is able to single-handedly neutralise the opposition scrum.
Whew! what tension!!! YAY SHARKS FOREVER!!!
