JP to return with another medal

He may have missed out on being a part of last season’s Currie Cup triumph, but Sharks winger JP Pietersen made up for that, to an extent, when his Panasonic Wild Knights side won the Japanese Top League Final this morning (SA time).

The Knights beat Suntory Sungoliath 45-22 in today’s final, which had to be rescheduled after a blizzard over the weekend. Pietersen will now return to Durban to join the Sharks for their Super Rugby campaign and could even see action as early as next week, depending on how quickly coach Jake White can assimilate him into the squad.

Pietersen tweeted a picture of himself holding the Japanese Top League trophy, thanking his fans for all the support.
