Cheetahs flyhalf Johan Goosen has been cleared to face the Bulls in Friday’s Super Rugby clash in Bloemfontein, after scans revealed no serious damage to the arm that forced him from the field during last week’s surprise loss to the Lions.
The notoriously injury-prone flyhalf will again take his place alongside Shaun Venter in an unchanged starting line-up, as coach Naka Drotske offers his players an opportunity to atone for that performance against the Lions, which he describes as the worst he’s seen from the Cheetahs in three seasons.
The only change to the matchday squad comes on the bench, where Hennie Daniller replaces Rayno Benjamin in the number 23 jersey.
Cheetahs:
15 Willie le Roux, 14 Cornal Hendricks, 13 Johann Sadie, 12 Francois Venter, 11 Raymond Rhule, 10 Johan Goosen, 9 Shaun Venter 8 Phillip van der Walt, 7 Lappies Labuschagné, 6 Boom Prinsloo, 5 Francois Uys, 4 Lodewyk de Jager, 3 Coenie Oosthuizen, 2 Adriaan Strauss, 1 Caylib Oosthuizen
Substitutes:16 Ryno Barnes, 17 Trevor Nyakane, 18 Maks van Dyk, 19 Rynard Landman, 20 Jean Cook, 21 Sarel Pretorius, 22 Elgar Watts, 23 Hennie Daniller

‘Glas’ Goosen lives to see another day. How long before he breaks again? 😈
Last week I would ve backed the FS over the bulls. Now I m not so sure …
The Bulls put up a hectic performance, which unfortunately reminded me of eating soup with a fork. Lots of action with very little achieved.Bulls vs Cheetahs could go any way if we base last weeks performances on this weeks action. 😈
I must admit i was impressed by Shaun Venter, big strong guy and does the basics well with a good pass
@CyberSakkie (Comment 1) : Wow Sakkie, that is inspirational. Collect your brownie points from the other groupies.
@KingCheetah (Comment 5) : Thats “CyberSakkie” to you, Meneer. You still a bit teary eyed after the loss on Saturday? Shame man. Not to worry. You will probably get over it by the time you are relegated by the Kings at the end of the season. Or not. 😉
@KingCheetah (Comment 5) :Were you at the game? 😆
@SheldonK (Comment 4) : Agreed.
@CyberSakkie (Comment 6) : 😆
@Talent (Comment 7) : Nope, unfortunately not. Or fortunately given the outcome, a long drive back from Bloem in a depressed state would not have been good lol
