The Stormers have confirmed that Samoan winger Sailosi Tagicakibau will join them for the remainder of their 2014 Super Rugby campaign.
The 31-year-old 100kg speedster is currently playing for London Irish and has been recruited to add size and experience to a rather thin back-three division.
Fans will be hoping that this signing works out a little better than the last time something similar was tried, with Fijian winger Sireli Naqelevuki presiding over some right howlers during his tenure of the Stormers number 14 shirt.
Tagicakibau (pronounced TUNG-gee-THUK-ee-BOUGH) has already arrived in Cape Town, tweeting “Cheers for all the tweets! Arrived safely in Cape Town and looking forward to getting involved! ” earlier this afternoon.

Well as some wag on Rugby world pointed out – whats the point in recruiting a winger, the Stormers never use them anyway.

Province lost the Plot, why not bring a player like Poolman back.or stead the net into South Africa. Rocco Jansen or PJ Vermeulen. If they need a giant wing….and that’s the idea behind it, then they have all ready lost the plot. Province rugby is a sad joke.
