I was wondering who the No Name player at the top of each list was, until it dawned on me. I guess it must be Friday 😳
Come on Bokkies.
our boys are looking nervous
Go Baby Boks!!
@Bokhoring (Comment 1) : Hasn’t dawned on me yet 😀
3 all
Try by Jessie Kriel
Its pretty obvious who should have been our flyhalf in last years JWC
10-6
How did Petersen ever make the Kings Super rugby side? 😯
England 11 – 10 Bokkies HT
Woeful defense.
typical as you praise someone , it comes back to bite you almost immediately.
Go Bokkies!
Dominating completely and trailing at half time. Some really poor play at crucial times handing England the lead.
Too many mistakes at crucial times
@Uli Boelie (Comment 12) : Hahaha and visa versa. The moment you crit someone, he pulls something special out of the hat. 😀
Ja, sorry to say but Peterson is not looking like a player that I’d want at the Sharks
We need to score first after half time. We can’t have England getting their tails up.
Another error and we end up on our 22. Then lose our own lineout.
Further error and we hand England 3 points.
Brilliant pass by Gelant puts us into their 22 and we win a breakdown penalty. Pollard kicks it.
England 14 – 13 Bokkies
C’mon Bokke!!
England running us off our feet now after some poor kicking by us. We get pinged at the breakdown. England kicks into the corner.
Some more poor kicking and we end up defending until we end up with a defensive lineout on our 5m line.
England score from the lineout drive. We’re trying our best to lose this game and busy succeeding.
England 21 – 13 Bokkies 53 min
We get a lineout from the kick off, fuck it up and end up defending a lineout 10m out. Luckily England knock.
Pollard clears to our 10m line.
Gelant once again creates space, but v d Merwe knocks with space in front of him.
We lose another lineout.
Game starting to slip away
No look pass gets intercepted and ONCE AGAIN we end up on our 22 where we concede a penalty. Luckily Burns misses.
And an absolute BEAUTY of a try from a set piece on our 22. Brilliant!!
Pollard converts.
England 21 – 20 Bokkies 65min
How much time left
Now the Bokkies putting England under the cosh. We get a scrum 15m out.
@JarsonX (Comment 35) : 12 min
Thanx
Go Bokke!
We knock it on in the tackle, England kicks it out and we have a lineout. Beatiful break my Pollard. Ends in nothing as we knock. Pollard eventually misses a drop kick attempt. 22 kick off.
72 min
Come on Bokkies!!!!
Keep up the pressure Bokkies
Scrum halfway between England’s 22 and 10. England win a scrum penalty. Burns kicks it to our 10m.
England just running down the clock.
Time is up. England scrum. Unless we get this tighthead that’s the ball game.
England are JWC Champs.
England 21 – 20 Bokkies FT
Shyte! 🙁
Lots of big name Myths busted today.
Congrats to England! Well done to the Baby Boks for making the final and beating NZ twice at home, still a huge achievement!
The same defensive frailties, which have been a problem all tournament came back to bite us. Some of saw this coming if they couldn’t fix that.
Well done England.
I only saw about 10 minutes of the game and was massively impressed by the Pom forwards, especially at scrum time.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 48) : Did’nt see enough to understand this , who screwed up?
The way the Jr. Boks played, I wonder whether they had any practice sessions leading up to this game….so-many-mistakes
@Salmonoid the Subtle (Comment 52) : Who didn’t… 👿
A 2 year old girl has more courage than Peterson on defense 😡
Well done Pollard! IRB Junior Player of the Year 2014. 😎
@rhineshark (Comment 55) : Thankfully he wasn’t judged on today’s game….though his scrummie did do everything in his power to mess every ball up.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 56) : Yip, Smith was a liability from the first time he touched the ball.
Oh well…
As Sharks supporter this loss is like water off a duck’s back. Simply second nature to experience bouts of deja vu after a loss in a final.
so .. odd on Pollard starting next week against the Scots ?
@rhineshark (Comment 58) :
@Zibbie (Comment 59) : If Morne Steyn is recalled by his club I reckon the chances are very good.
@vanmartin (Comment 60) : Did you not watch the game today?!
When he needed to stand up and be counted, he disappeared with the rest of the team.
Throw him into test rugby now, and his future will be ruined…take him on the end of year tour to carry tackle bags…I mean, learn the team environment….then next year he’ll be ready to play backup to Lambie at the wc 😉
@Salmonoid the Subtle (Comment 51) : English rugby seems to be in good health at the moment – seeing how well their juniors are doing, as well as the senior side giving the world champions a real go in their backyard.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 61) : Nope I didn’t, had to work, but believe it or not I don’t pick the Bok team ;-). Anyway, one bad game does not a bad player make as we’re all aware, especially one so young.
I have this suspicion that Marnitz Boshoff features below Pollard in Meyer’s flyhalf queue so if Meyer had the option he’d rather get Pollard into the setup and used to the structures in preparation for the World Cup. I reckon Meyer’s flyhalves for the WC (should they be available) are Steyn, Lambie and Pollard with Goosen probably seen as first backup.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 61) : @vanmartin (Comment 63) : Come to think of it though, Meyer may just opt to start with Ruan “let’s run to the sideline” Pienaar at flyhalf with Pollard on the bench. Or I’m just way off base
@vanmartin (Comment 63) : No doubt Pollard has talent, but I’d like the guy to finish a CC and SR season starting at 10 before throwing him to the international wolves.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 65) : @FireTheLooser (Comment 65) : got to agree with you. Pollard must rather play Currie cup than sit behind Steyn, Goosen/Lambie in Rugby championship.
I hope we realise once again that we can’t win matches without the ball!!
We reverted to the kick chase far too often when we were actually lethal with ball in hand!! Pollard looks so much better playing Honiball-like flat at the gain line taking them on…pollard has great talent but can work on decision making. Why snap a drop on the back foot going backwards, after you had just been in front of the posts 2 phases before??
The scrum half was absolutely terrible and the fact that he wasn’t subbed raised questions over management!!!
A game we should have won no doubt
@pienaar111 (Comment 67) : yes Bokkies could have won the game. Was thinking a drop goal was on when with time almost over they had a couple of phases in the 22 but he waited to long and just missed the difficult chance. Still it was a good showing by the Bokkies and a couple of these youngsters could be huge in the future.
