We have a momentous event to celebrate today – a player actually made it all the way through the 2014 Super Rugby Last Man Standing competition without dying!

A huge round of congratulations are in order for our very own JarsonX, whose First Man Down team defied their ironic moniker to emerge victorious. Jarson and his team kept their cherry intact all the way until Round 17, when a loss by the Rebels saw the first lifeline go down. The second lifeline was lost this past weekend, with the cheetahs capitulating at Ellis Park but it wasn’t enough to knock JarsonX out of the game entirely.

Here’s how it was done….

Round 19: Picked Toyota Cheetahs and they didn’t win. (Lost a lifeline)
Round 18: Picked Golden Lions and they won.
Round 17: Picked Rebels and they didn’t win. (Lost a lifeline)
Round 16: Picked Crusaders and they won.
Round 15: Picked Vodacom Bulls and they won.
Round 14: Picked DHL Stormers and they won.
Round 13: Picked Highlanders and they won.
Round 12: Picked Blues and they won.
Round 11: Picked Force and they won.
Round 10: Picked Hurricanes and they won.
Round 9:Used a BYE.
Round 8: Picked Brumbies and they won.
Round 7:Used a BYE.
Round 6: Picked Waratahs and they won.
Round 5: Picked Chiefs and they won.
Round 4: Picked Reds and they won.
Round 3:Used a BYE.
Round 2: Picked Cell C Sharks and they won.
Round 1:Used a BYE.

Our runner-up this year is Ho3n3r, who also managed to stay alive right up until the final round, where he also lost out to the useless Cheetahs.

Congrats to both players – we’ll be in touch regarding your prizes – Sharks jerseys courtesy of competition sponsor BLK.

  • It was all about weeks of careful planning, strategizing, drawing up pie charts, examining team’s strenghts and weaknesses, looking at the history books etc. But mostly it was all about LUCK and lots of it. 😛

Congrats to Ho3n3r who came close and thanks to Sharksworld, who organises this fun game and BLK for sponsoring the prizes. Thumbs up to all and goodluck to all for the next one.
