DHL Western Province have received a smattering of good news ahead of this weekend’s Currie cup opener against the EP Kings.
Recently fit Bok squad members Eben Etzebeth and Frans Malherbe, neither of whom have played any rugby over the last few months, will be released to play in the Currie Cup this weekend. New captain Juan de Jongh will thus have some Bok experience in his pack for the game, but exactly how tight head Malherbe is accommodated remains to be seen; Pat Cilliers, another player most usually seen at number 3, has been appointed vice captain for the season.
Meanwhile, the Boks have also announced that Victor Matfield will miss the first test of the Rugby Championship campaign due to a minor knee cartilage injury. A short-term replacement will be named soon.

So why can’t the Sharks have Lambie!
