If it wasn’t for bad luck, EP Kings captain Luke Watson would have no luck whatsoever.
News coming out of the Bay this morning is that Watson sustained a concussion against the Blue Bulls last weekend, meaning a mandatory four week period on the sidelines. Given that the new boys’ inspirational leader has only just returned form a bout of flu, after missing around a year of rugby wit a foot injury, at least the Kings can say that they are used to having to make do without him.
The Kings, whose Currie Cup campaign has got off to a poor start (with no wins their first three outings) face more of the same this weekend, with the wounded Lions heading down to the NMB Stadium looking for a big result, after a tame loss against Western Province at the weekend.
Watson will now, it seems, only return to action a fortnight or so before the play-offs, which the Kings look rather unlikely to contest at this stage of proceedings.

Wow poor Luke seems to have the worst luck over the last two years.
Hard luck to Watson but surely its no big issue for the Kings…i mean there are thousands of quality players in the Eastern Cape to pick from…is there not a queue of players outside the stadium?? Or am i confused…
Not sure its a loss really – his replacement played much better last week.
Maybe he should start coaching?!?!?!?!
