Sharks under 19 coach James Fleming has kept faith in his starting fifteen for Friday afternoon’s crunch clash against the Blue Bulls, a game that could make or break his charges’ semi-final prospects.
A narrow win against the EP Kings was perhaps not the ideal dress rehearsal for a game against far stronger opposition, but the Sharks will, at least, take heart from the composure hey showed in closing out that game. With the Bulls sure to present a far sterner challenge, the Sharks will need to once again be sure of any points scoring opportunities that come up.
Two changes have been made on the bench this week. Klerksdorp’s Cohen Wortley takes over at reserve hooker from Wesley White, whose Sharks future seems a little unclear given this week’s developments. In the other change, Ayron Schramm comes back onto the bench for Jedwyn Harty, after missing last week’s game due to illness.
The game kicks off at 3pm tomorrow at Kings Park.

KW’s kid not in either side…did he get on the same bus as dad?
Will be tough for the junior sides against the Bulls…would have to be something special from them to get the wins
I don’t think it’s really fair to drag Wes into his dad’s business. He’s just a kid and none of this really has anything to do with him.
That said, I do believe he either has left or will shortly leave the Academy.
@robdylan (Comment 3) : Yeh nothing against the kid, i believe he is quite decent. Just wondered if he has to follow his dad around
@SheldonK (Comment 4) : if anything, I’d say the decision to come to Durban when his dad was the big boss was perhaps naive.
@robdylan (Comment 5) : Tough lesson to learn as a youngster
@SheldonK (Comment 6) : Very.
Far stronger 😆 we’re going to beat the Bulls next week
@SheldonK (Comment 4) : interestingly in the Aviva Premiership you have 2 sides where son plays and dad coaches. George and Mike Ford at Bath and Thomas and Dai Young at London Wasps. Saracens had Owen and Andy Farrell while at Northampton Jim Mallinders son plays for the Academy.
the boys lead 30-7 at half time.
Already scored 4 tries via Marcel Coetzee (2), Marra Louw and big Hyron Andrews.
Try Jean Luc!
Sharks lead 35-7
42-7, baby. Try Andy du Plessis
Coetzee hat trick! 52-7
