Jacques Botes scored a try and conversion for the Barbarians in his final game of rugby last night, the invitational side beating the Leicester Tigers 59-26.
In a memorable game for the South African contingent, Western Province captain Juan de Jongh scored twice before unselfishly passing to Botes over the line in the 80th minute, allowing the popular loose forward to sign off in style. Botes’s earlier attempt to convert Tevita’s Li’s try was a little less successful, but humourous all the same.
Sharks prop Thomas du Toit scored one of the nine tries on the night, with Lions flyhalf Marnitz Boshoff contributing ten points via five conversions.

A conversion? Is there anything Jacques Botes can’t do? The man needs to go get his degree in psychology and then convince the Sharks they can win Super Rugby 😀
Awesome happy for the legend !! Would’ve been great to have watched the game
😎
Boots has to be one of the best players not to have played international rugby. Congratulations on a superb career. A truly classy individual.
There is a highlights video on You Tube ????
