The Sharks have confirmed that their occupational health and safety sponsor, MICROMega, have added a further two years to the sponsorship package that was agreed at the start of 2014.
With all the fanfare surrounding the Cell C headline sponsorship, some of these smaller deals, which are nonetheless invaluable in terms of keeping the brand and team healthy, didn’t get a huge amount of airplay at the time of signing. It’s good to see that MICROMega, whose logo adorns the right breast of the Sharks jersey, have decided to invest further and let’s hope that they continue to be associated with the Sharks for many years to come.
“Partnering with the Sharks over the past year has been hugely successful for MICROMega,” Greg Morris, MICROMegaCEO, told the Sharks website. “We are delighted to have renewed the partnership and look forward to supporting the Sharks over the next two years.”
John Smit added: “We value our sponsors and their investment in the Sharks brand. We are delighted that MICROMega have renewed their partnership with us and together we will continue to strive for excellence.”

Good news for the sharks.
Rob to get back to your pic. Its pretty sad to think the Sharks have 3 current players that I know of playing for other countries. Although I am happy for those players, we really need to identify our player talents better.
Thanks for the update Rob. After reading the article I decided to educate myself on what it is MICROMega actually do. I encourage others to do the same. I’m not of the opinion that we owe Sharks sponsors anything in terms of switching our business to them, always go where service and value is best. I do think that it is a nice gesture though to give them a few minutes of our time and see what they’re about. At least then, their marketing gambit paid off to some degree.
Good news for the Sharks! Sponsorships are critical in the modern game. Pretty sure MICROMega is paying a small fortune to be on the front of the jersey.
Great, all sponsorships welcome.
I remember reading about this initail sponsorship but in all honesty when I read the headline I didnt remember what or who they were. Is their logo even on the Sharks jersey? Obviously it is but that huge C Shell branding overpowers and totally diminishes anything else that may be on the jersey.
Maybe you should put up a weekly reminder that the Sharks are also sponsored by MICROmega.
@Uli Boelie (Comment 1) : don’t know about the juniors but can’t recall any senior players except maybe Chavanga?
Good stuff…
Barrit and Kockett jumps to mind …
