Will stream the game on my phone while I attempt to act busy at work 😀
Also that Saders team…. RIP Rebels.
@Seth101 (Comment 1) : I love technology
Good moanin everyone
Unless your ISP has issues, then technology sucks 😈
@JarsonX (Comment 5) : They say you don’t really know someone till you see them with slow internet. 😛
Question, when last did Mccaw and Carter both start a game together, feels like forever.
Exactly
@Southern_Shark (Comment 6) : Back in simpler times this used to be “until you go camping with them” but this definitely works too 😀
Saders 3 – 0 Rebels
18mins
Saders 10 – 7 Rebels
26mins
@Southern_Shark (Comment 6) :
You don’t want to see me when my internet connection is giving me trouble.
Halftime
Saders 10 – 13 Rebels
@Letgo (Comment 12) : Haha I go crazy. 😯
You dont want to see me when the Rebels arent sticking to the (Superbru) plot. And that in the first game of the competition. On the other hand I always like an underdog coming out on top – except against the Sharks.
10-13 Rebels
@Salmonoid the Subtle (Comment 15) :
Luckily very few would have picked them and those who did pick them most probably made a few other strange picks, so we’ll all be affected badly by this one … it evens out.
Same score
48mins
Crusaders can level it up here.
@Letgo (Comment 12) : or when your spell check isn’t working
Contentious penalty, according to NZ commentators. A bit of a tip tackle, penalty only, under review.
They’re going to give him a yellow. Commentators felt it shouldn’t be a penalty to start with.
Carter misses from right in front.
Still 10-13
28min to go
Rebels not lying down.
@Letgo (Comment 23) : Match Fixing?!
3 Yellow Cards in this game
Try Rebels, looks like the ref might review it.
Looks like it will be try and should be converted.
Carter makes the blunder and gives rebels the try.
Should be 10 – 20 with 15 on the clock.
10 – 20, 13min to go.
Carter limping, but staying on.
Almost try for Crusaders, looks like there was a knock.
Yep, 5m scrum Rebels.
10min
Crusaders till on attack, 15m line-out.
I don’t know if they’ll be able to score twice.
When do we get the chance to start the season against the Saders. It will be a guaranteed win.
@The hound (Comment 20) : 😈
Knock on after number of phases. Rebels defense has shaped-up. Could be a dark horse if this is a sign of things to come – although usually 1 or 2 injuries and these teams fall out completely.
2 minutes.
First upset of the season.
Every year its the same thing Saders start slow,and peak at the right time.
Smart money says this year is no different
Wow! Crusaders look flat. 😯 They should’ve taken Carter off 20 min ago.
The Crusaders did not thing it would be that hard to break the Rebels line. This game was one by the solid defense of the Rebels, how many times have that been said?
Saders lose without a bonus point, what a start \o/
@The hound (Comment 38) : I understand starting slow, but this looks like reverse. 😈
I had a sneaky feeling that the Rebels will win. But I still picked the Saders.
@Seth101 (Comment 2) : Hope there was no money involved in that prediction?
Try brumbies
7-0 6 min
Looks like big trouble for reds
@Southern_Shark (Comment 42) : @Southern_Shark (Comment 42) : Go back any year and it’s the same thing,they always come into the competition undercooked and take 3 to 4 weeks to gradually build up to full speed.
Not that I didn’t tip them to win on Superbru though.
Reds picking it up a bit
Brumbies going for goal
10-0 13 min
Boom Boom looks about 20 kgs lighter and a helluva a lot less cut than he did before his long holiday.
Reds opting for touch

@Seth101 (Comment 2) : So much for the Saders..I had a feeling they would struggle today…but not enough of a feeling to pick the Rebels on Superbru!
I did pick the Brumbies, though, just not by this margin!!
@BR (Comment 84) : Thanks for the updates…haven’t been able to watch…
Red for horwill
Try brumbies 47-3
@pastorshark (Comment 86) : Brumbies looking really good
Conv. Missed 47-3 78min
Whoa, Reds being pummeled by the sounds of it.
@The hound (Comment 38) : Although the Crusaders just don’t look quite as impressive on paper this year. They have guys still to come back, but depth looks to be more of an issue than last year…
@BR (Comment 88) : Thank goodness I swopped Horwill out of my fantasy league just in time….
47-3 Fulltime
@BR (Comment 90) : Are the Reds poor or ate the Brumbies just playing that well?
Reds will be happy it is over
@JarsonX (Comment 43) : Same here!
@pastorshark (Comment 96) : Reds looked rusty but brumbies looked really good as well , that said I don’t think this years reds will be the best we have seen, if they don’t watch they will get clapped by the rebels
@BR (Comment 99) : The Rebels…and even the Force have looked quite in preseason…so the Reds might be in danger of picking up the wooden spoon. To early to tell though…
@pastorshark (Comment 100) : Well if they don’t pick up their discipline They are in for a tough year
Most of those penalties were at the driving maul. The Brumbies maul was unstoppable. Mostly the cunning way they executed the maul, but also the way the ref policed it. SA teams need to take note of this ref and just maul everything if he has the whistle. 😐
Don’t want to start a panic or anything but I just saw Bismarck walk in to xrays at Umhlanga hospital. At least he was walking…..and looked alright!!!!!
Wow reds destroyed by da brumbies. Interesting results in the opening fixtures of super rugby. We going to have an exciting weekend of rugby. Pity i had to miss the opening games. Thanx guys 4 da score updates. BR ul make a great commentator lol.
@Southern_Shark (Comment 103) : I have to admit the ref didn’t have his best game letting a lot of the ball stuff go especially brumbies players diving/falling on reds players on the ground.
@Stu (Comment 104) : Oh dear…don’t say that!!
I look forward to watching some highlights…
@The hound (Comment 38) : ja that’s true but it stuffs up my Superbru picks. 😯
@JarsonX (Comment 43) : had the same feeling but my brain just said they will not lose against Rebels in NZ no matter how slow they start. geez I hate my brain should have listened to my heart!!!!!!!!! 👿
@BR (Comment 102) : well they already improved in the second halve. 😈 Reds to top Ozzie Log!!!!!!!! 😈
@Stu (Comment 104) : hope he was going to see his brother?!?!
@JD (Comment 111) : Haha…..I saw a sponsored red Audio leave soon afterwards. Couldn’t see whose it was. I’m always paranoid the week before kick off!!!
Lions looking good so far still 0-0 after 10 min
Penalty lions going for touch
Another penalty lions going for touch again
Hurricanes great counter at maul and lions knock on two kick able penalties not taken
Still 0-0 after 18 min
Boshoff missing his 3rd penalty and now takes a hit too the head Going for the ding-dong test
The Lions have missed 3 penalties, 1 drop goal and didn’t score from 2 5m lineouts…they are playing well, but surely they will rue not using their opportunities!!
Penalty hurricane going for goal
Hurricanes taking the lead after 20 min 0-3
Try lions after some good attacking 5-3

Make that 4 kicks at post missed by the Lions…

That was not a knock from the canes
Great scrum from lions and get the penalty
This time going for goal
Over 8-11 half time
Lions looking the more dangerous of the two sides but canes playing the more sensible rugby
Converted penalty for canes
8-14 55min
Again going for touch from a kick able penalty 😕 😕 ❓
And knocks it again it doesn’t pay off
Again a penalty not going for goal again knocks it
Still 8-14 72 min
Penalty hurricanes
8-17 75min
Lions lucky to still be 15 on the field
Instead just a scrum for canes
Canes scrum 5 m out
Canes knock on lions try line
Tight head canes , try canes
8-22
Canes take it 8-22
Blues have the early penalty
Blues looking to open the scoring
And does 3-0 6 min
A very good away win for the Canes and Plum.
So the Lions were out-Plummed
