Pieter-Steph du Toit will only be out of rugby for three months following his knee injury against the Cheetahs.
As we reported earlier, yesterday’s appointment with the knee specialist failed to turn up the expected bad news – quite the opposite in fact. Pieter-Steph was referred for a scope today and has just revealed, via his twitter account, that the procedure was successful and he’ll be back on the field WAY sooner than the 8 months at first predicted.
A MIRACLE just happened.Just got home after surgery,everything went well.Doc said I will be able to play in 3months,if rehabs goes well.

Clearly elated, Pieter-Steph followed up with a tweet thanking fans for their support and prayers.
God is great. Thanks for all the prayers and support. God definitely heard it. You don't know how much I appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Never thought I’d be so happy to hear that a player is out for three months!
Woohoo! Great news!
Freaking Awesome.
Oh happy day!
Excellent news. I hope the rehab goes really well.
Beautiful stuff. Happy for the young man. In fact delighted. Praying for a speedy recovery. Thank you Lord.
still somewhat of a bummer that he misses the entire Super Rugby season. Still, really glad he gets to go to the World Cup
Halleluja!
This basically means he can start training or running after 2 months.
Really good news for him. Sad that I won’t see him fir the rest of Super Rugby though. I just want him to rest up now and HM to give him a good run during the RC to get him match fit for RWC.
Stoked! What a boytjie! This is great news. Our World Cup chances just improved immensely
@Letgo (Comment 11) : he can play in the knock outs
yessssssssssssssssssssss
I got so excited on the other thread and forgot Rob would be biting his nails on news 😆
Made my day! Stoked!
Thanks to our Lord!!! He never fails us.
@sharks_lover (Comment 14) : I’m generally ok in terms of getting news without much outside help, but thanks for thinking of me 🙂
@robdylan (Comment 17) : 😉 Pleasure young man 😆
@sharks_lover (Comment 18) : go check the timestamps buddy. Interested to hear which local site got the story up before I did, because I’m pretty sure there wasn’t one.
Awe-frikkin’-some!
Would have been nice if it was shorter, but still great news. He is one of those guys that I will consider a sharkie forever. We all just love this kid to bits. And he has been immense this season a legend in the making. Good also to hear about sbura coming back. What is the story with Deysel when can we see captain america back on?
Great, great news. Speedy recovery.
In our youth group, when something wonderful happens we say, “Ich hör Handel!!” (Literally “I hear Handel”…in reference to his Halleluja Chorus “Das große Halleluja”)…well, right now I hear Handel…on Surround Sound…really loud!! 😆
Awesome news!
Cracking news.
So happy for PS, the Sharks and the Boks.
Anybody knwo who the surgeon was?
@pastorshark (Comment 23) : That pretty cool 🙂
Absolutely fantastic news! Made my evening, the Boks have hope again!
@VinChainSaw (Comment 25) : I’ll find out for you tomorrow
@VinChainSaw (Comment 25) : whoever the surgeon was, someone better get that man or woman a bells!
“God is great” but what about the surgeon?
@vanmartin (Comment 2) : Boer you said it!!!! Great news!!!!
@Feather (Comment 30) : don’t wanna get all religious but God gave him a great gift that he surely used well. Good work doc.
God is Great! He definitely heard us as PSDT acknowledged. This is the best news!
How do we know it was Jesus and not Satan? Maybe one of us sacrificed a goat last night under the crescent moon and that was what did the trick?
Fantastic fantastic!!! Happy days!!
See you in the final Mr. du Toit!
@Dryden (Comment 34) : I guess that sounded funnier in your head 🙄
@robdylan (Comment 8) : This made my day. So happy for him. Seems like all the prayers have been answered.
@Dryden (Comment 34) : @StevieS (Comment 36) : 🙄
And the Proteas have Sri Lanka on the ropes at 127/9. Seems this is a really good day
So that makes it two miracles for the season thus far: Beast and PSdT
Could we be in for a third? 🙂
@Bokhoring (Comment 38) : …and then the rain came down 😐
Let’s hope the sunshine pushes the cloud away
@FireTheLooser (Comment 40) : At least there is a reserve day from now on.
@Bokhoring (Comment 41) : Seems we won’t need it 😀
@FireTheLooser (Comment 39) : @FireTheLooser (Comment 42) : We might be witnessing that third miracle. 😀
@Ben (Comment 43) : We need patience now. Just need to keep wickets in hand.
@Bokhoring (Comment 44) : Or just go hard. Patience creates pressure.
@Ben (Comment 45) : Just chip away at the total. SA is good in relieving pressure using singles.
i really really really hope common sense prevails and he is slowly eased back into action and not made to play the full 80min every week from his 1st game back…great news however.
@Ben (Comment 43) : you talking about Quinton de Kok????
@The hound (Comment 48) : Three fours in one over from him on current form is a miracle. He is actually looking a lot better this game.
@Bokhoring (Comment 46) : A quick 50 from Quinton will relieve the pressure greatly.
@The hound (Comment 48) : Maybe 😆
@Bokhoring (Comment 49) : That catch this morning justified his place in the team,.The game was defined there.
And here comes the ‘mystery’ spinner.
@Ben (Comment 50) : I would just settle for 50 from De Kock. Would do him the world of good.
@Bokhoring (Comment 54) : True.
@The hound (Comment 52) : Agreed. In any case AB can’t (and does not want to) captain and keep the wicket.
@Bokhoring (Comment 56) : Quinton is definitely our long term answer.
@Dryden (Comment 34) : You know, I’m not going to remove that comment because I like to think we’re a tolerant lot.
But really, it wasn’t necessary.
@Bokhoring (Comment 41) : How does the reserve day work? Do they continue the game from where the rain stopped it or do they start over? I assume it’s the former. Sorry for the stupid question. 😳
@Ben (Comment 59) : As far as I know, you carry on where the game stopped.
Quinton is flaying SL now.
@Bokhoring (Comment 61) : Exactly what I was talking about.
And gets his 50 of 37 balls. Well done Quinton.
@Bokhoring (Comment 63) : Jumped the gun there. 😉
@Bokhoring (Comment 63) : Now he does. That previous 4 counted as legbyes
@Bokhoring (Comment 65) : ‘Headbyes’ .
Never realised that the Proteas never won a CWC knock-out game before…always assumed that some of the semi’s were reached after winning at least a singular qtr. final.
What-a-win!
@FireTheLooser (Comment 67) : Didn’t know that either. Well done Proteas.
@Ben (Comment 68) : That’s a pretty darn significant 23-year old monkey off our backs.
@robdylan (Comment 58) : Agree.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 69) : Who do we play next? The winner of which game?
@FireTheLooser (Comment 69) : More like a gorilla
@Ben (Comment 71) : NZ vs WI
@Bokhoring (Comment 73) : So NZ then. Ouch 🙄
@Ben (Comment 74) : We owe NZ after the 2011 qtr. final humiliation.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 75) : Yeah we do. But considering how we’ve been playing against the West Indies of late. I’d say, go Windies!
@The hound (Comment 52) :
Absolutely. BMT.
@pastorshark (Comment 23) : Can you Handel this? @Dryden (Comment 34): Cynicism,much?We know it is God (I am wearing my pastor hat),firstly because PSdT admitted it was 😀 (and only He can do it) & satan (small letters!) 😈 doesn’t stand a hope in hell (pardon the pun)of healing anybody for whatever reason. 👿 even if you sacrifice a goat! 😀
@markm (Comment 78) : are you also a pastor?
Wow, but we have no shortage here.
@markm (Comment 78) : Well said.
@robdylan (Comment 79) : Aren’t we all? 😆 Shows you how righteous SHARKSWORLD is! 😀 @StevieS (Comment 80) : Thank you 😎
@markm (Comment 81) :
Do you have a Greek surname per chance?
@VinChainSaw (Comment 82) : Nope.German. 😀
