Two Sharks youngsters have made the Junior Springbok starting line-up for tomorrow’s match against the Varsity Cup Dream Team in Stellenbosch, with two more included on the bench.
Daniel du Preez, who made his Super Rugby debut for the franchise this season (but missed out on last year’s Junior World Championship due to injury) start at blindside flank, with young tighthead Ruan Kramer named in the number 3 jersey. Kramer, a product of Grey College in Bloemfontein, captained the Sharks at under 19 level last year.
The other du Preez twin, flanker Jean-Luc, will play off the bench, as will loosehead prop Mzamo Majola. Another young Shar, flyhalf Innocent Radebe, will start for the Varsity cup side.

Nice! All the best guys!
Didn’t Thomas du Toit also get a call up?
@coolfusion (Comment 3) : I beleive Thomas is going to be joining the squad, yes. So will probably miss the tour
@robdylan (Comment 4) : more good news…NOT. Well at least I hope he gets some time with an on-form team this year.
@robdylan (Comment 4) :
Thomas is with the senior Sharks squad – he will go to the Junior RWC.
@robdylan (Comment 4) : Oh my bloody word – thats just great. But then again who desides if he plays Jnr Boks or SR?
This game should be played in Bloemfontein, UOFS won the Varsity Cup, they should have the rights to host the game.
@Morné (Comment 6) : has Hyron Andrews fallen out of the picture, or shouldn’t we read too much into this?
Good luck lads.
@robdylan (Comment 9) :
Nah don’t read too much into it.
He will go to Argentina, all that is happening now is that combo’s are tested.
@Morné (Comment 11) : ok cool. Good kid that – I like him a lot
one lonely lion on the Bench …
@Zibbie (Comment 13) : Oh well, more for you to use during SR. Hope the junior boks have a good run again this year many awesome talents discovered during last years. Bulls and Stormers seem to be the biggest contributors, why I wonder? Do we not have strong enough candidates in our breeding programs/junior pools?
Hopefully the Lions can do some shopping and buy a few of these players .. shocking to have only 1 player on the bench
Good luck gents…
most of our juniors play vodacom cup . dont think we have a lot involved in SR
@coolfusion (Comment 14) : Because the Bulls and WP contract triple the amount of juniors that the Sharks do, every year.
Congrats to all involved in the game, let’s hope and pray for zero injuries.
Any idea if this will be broadcast?
