Four players were forced off the field with injuries on Saturday, and they will be checked during the next day or so, after which more clarity will be given.

Both tightheads Jannie du Plessis and Vincent Koch left the field, Jannie with a knee concern while Koch looks to have a broken rib.

Similarly, Warren Whiteley also looks to have broken a rib.

Francois Louw has a shoulder concern.

All four players will be assessed but will have two weeks to recover as the Rugby Championship takes a break this weekend.

  • Some really big concerns here flow and Marcell out. Koch coming along nicely and off. Jannie probably the first season in a long time he has played this level and now he has to rust- a -while HM not having an easy buildup to say the least. Lood so good and out too? I suppose it’s up to the sharks built ,stormers owned psdt to recover quick enough to build continuity. Good news maybe for Jaco Kriel?

  • Rich or Rob, please could you do your articles again where you rate the players out of 10. Great to get that sort of insight into the performances.

    Thanks guys.

  • Here is my take on the Boks.

Much better intent and the centres are a silver lining to hold on for. Our scrum is back to form of yester-year. Locks look top brilliant (probably better without Matfield). Our breakdown competing is top notch with both loose forward line ups over the past 2 weeks (balance, not bulk). We have been unlucky on the injury front, especially with the scrums last weekend. Pienaar has improved his delivery, but Id like to see some of the silky running he showed in his youth!!!

Tactically we need a level head and game manager at 10 and Pollard is not that yet. Despite all his spark, he doesnt control the game and we have suffered for it the past 2 weekends. I was their at Suncorp to see it first hand. Also people tend to forget that he wasn’t that great in the Semis and Final at the u20 world cup when it mattered!!!

It grinds me how a guy who has proven himself on multiple occasions to be a controlling figure under intense pressure – LAMBO – gets given the shaft because he is not as explosive.

BUT overall it is an improvement in personnel and style of play!!!

  • @pienaar111 (Comment 24) : Good summation. It seems a lot of people feel Pollard isn’t controlling the game well.
