The Sharks leave Durban today, after a gruelling pre-season, to embark on a two-week pre-season tour of France.
Gary Gold’s 32-man squad heads to the Mediterranean city of Toulon first, with a game scheduled against the mighty Toulonaise this coming Friday night. They then move on to Toulouse, capital of France’s South-Western Midi-PyrΓ©nΓ©es region. A game against Stade Toulousain follows on Thursday 11 Feb, with the team departing France next Friday to return to South Africa.
We’d like to wish the squad well on their travels and hope for a safe, injury-free tour that affords many opportunities to bond and grow, both on and off the field of play. Spare a thought for those squad members left behind, too – they will need to continue their training and rehabilitation programs to ensure they are as close to fitness as possible by the time the season prop kicks off…. LATER THIS MONTH.
That’s it, guys…. we’re into February and Super Rugby is just around the corner. The long wait, in other words, is nearly over.
Note: For any readers who are planning to attend the game in Toulouse, I’ll be there myself. Let me know if you’re going and we can try to meet up before the game for a drink or two.

Holy hell, a legend is on his way back to the Sharks! I’ll leave the full story to Rob. π―

Do any of you know if the pre-season games will be broadcast?
