Fred finds a bit of space, and the Cheetahs get a penalty on the 22 in front of polls.
TV looks like a badly coded 8 bit game now. Just pixels.

Jags win.
33-34
FULL TIME
CHEETAHS 33 – 34 JAGUARES
I hate being right in these situations. Cheetahs need some serious restructure or repairs. Terrible.
Jags were nothing like their international side. Ignoring the SS commentator circle jerk, the Jags were sloppy, dirt and only won because the Cheetahs were more sloppy and couldn’t defend broken play.
@Seth101 (Comment 144) : Agreed.
My first Superbru loss :(.
@coolfusion (Comment 145) : Far less worried about playing the Jags after that display.
@Seth101 (Comment 144) : SS commentators, still a bloody joke! 🙄
@Seth101 (Comment 144) : 100% agreed. Raymond ‘Goosestep-Meister’ Rhule didn’t aid the cause either.
What the heck is that abstract image in the tsietas jersey?
@Seth101 (Comment 146) : Disappointing. But not that unexpected or unbelievable. Right?
Creevy gets man of the match for running his mouth the whole game long!
@Seth101 (Comment 147) : Yup.
@coolfusion (Comment 120) : Think that is a bit harsh…. this is as close to a full on international test team, against a very young Cheetahs team. A bit of perspective is required… Cheetahs did very well to run the Argies this close…. Not many gave the Cheetahs much of a chance.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 150) : 3D mielie
I’ll be up to commentate the game in the morning if anyone plans on being awake
@KingCheetah (Comment 154) : There you are!
@vanmartin (Comment 149) : Almost as if Rhule is going the way of Nokwe….started his career with a bang, then slowly fizzled out.
At least Nokwe never had that “dear-in-the-headlights” step that Rhule abuses…..terrible.
@KingCheetah (Comment 154) : Nope U disagree they showed they had what it takes in first half. This argies team was a sloppy mess nowhere near there international team.
@KingCheetah (Comment 154) : Both teams played like crap, one was just better at taking advantage of the crap.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 158) : Rhule, for a man of his experience, is also still way too upright in the tackle.
For those that backed the Cheetahs…. Thank you. I called them for a narrow win…. Sigh!
For those that called them terrible… Geez, guys, the Argies were spoiling most of the game, and we still came within a point of upsetting an almost test Argentine team. That is rather snide. Will wait and see how the Sharks go.
Rhule was never that good to start with, he like many others suffered from serious over hyping that only South Africans can pull off.
@coolfusion (Comment 159) : Sloppy mess or not. Still their test team, and the experience came through in the end.
@KingCheetah (Comment 162) : I backed them, still think they were terrible, Argies were too, was a a messy game of rugby.
@vanmartin (Comment 155) : You serious?…how drunk was the designer of that….looked like an 80’s PC graphic of an abstract eagle.
@KingCheetah (Comment 162) : I backed them all the way along with my brother- and father-in-law and I’m sorry if you disagree but the Cheetahs could have and should have won this one.
What happened to Willie Britz?
@vanmartin (Comment 167) : Which is what makes it worse. They weren’t outplayed by a class outfit.
@coolfusion (Comment 168) : You mean the Lions player? 😆
@Seth101 (Comment 170) : Yup he went back to cheetahs didn’t he?
@vanmartin (Comment 167) : Yes I also feel they could have and should have. I am disappointed. They will learn from this, and gain massive confidence. Their scrum was a revelation. The Argies did show their experience though. The Cheetahs had so many young guys that will grow hugely through the year. Think only Lood and Torsten are test players, and there were many guys playing their first Super rugby match.
Goal kicking cost us again big time…. Marais might just edge Fred soon, if he doesn’t sort his kicking.
@coolfusion (Comment 171) : Oh you’re right, um not sure.
@coolfusion (Comment 168) : Injured thumb. Think out for a month
@Seth101 (Comment 163) : Big and fast. That’s what all the hype was about, but he’s got nothing else.
@KingCheetah (Comment 174) : Too bad he could have made a meal of this.
Dear SS, instead of having that panel of former hacks bore us with their theoretical analysis, find a way to show us what the actual coaches and captains of the respective teams say in the dressing room pre-match and at half time…
…until such a time as you’re able to provide us with this, expect me to spend my pre-match and half time, on social media.
@Ben (Comment 175) : 6’2 at 83kgs is not big at all. Maybe if he actually bulked he wouldn’t be so scared of being tackled.
Oh well I hope cheetahs can pull it together. I would have loved to see that backline fly from some good front foot ball.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 177) : +1
@Seth101 (Comment 180) : You don’t have a say. You aren’t paying a monthly DSTV prescription. 😆
@Ben (Comment 181) : I watch the official SS stream, but no don’t pay for it.
@Seth101 (Comment 182) : My point exactly. 🙂
ROB if you read this, can we have an article for the game in the morning, for commentary. <3
@coolfusion (Comment 179) : Well I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the Cheetahs scrum, so if that can continue, we may see some nice free flowing tries. WSS and Venter are combining well.
@KingCheetah (Comment 172) : Two areas where consistency lacked in my opinion:
1. Patience on attack, there were some silky skills on display, but things were a little too forced towards the end of the game
2. Commitment in defense. Might be a conditioning issue but you can’t have the opposition nine handing off half the team. There’s just no excuse there.
@vanmartin (Comment 186) : Yes…. same old gremlin haunting the Cheetahs. Hope Franco can sort it out. Goal kicking also an issue.
As disappointing as the loss was, it was a better start than we have had in a while.
Stormers next…. going to be a tough match.
@KingCheetah (Comment 187) : Yeah, Fred needs to improve the accuracy but I’m sure he’ll sort himself out. Damn, Francois Venter is a joy to behold.
@KingCheetah (Comment 185) : Agreed Venter is going to be massive. I said from the beginning the argies sucked the boks in with their negative play. Super teams must be very wary of that. I am still amazed at how they get away with playing pile up at the back of the ruck. To me they don’t add any value to this competition if you can counter their destructive ways they should be a breeze.
@vanmartin (Comment 188) : Yup his performance put a skew on this outcome.
At SR level less than 70% goal kicking is almost intolerable.
@vanmartin (Comment 186) : I read somewhere that defense is a mindset, can’t be coached. Obviously defensive patterns are coached, but players have to WANT to stop attackers… Commitment, I suppose
@the ko (Comment 192) : If that holds true then inexperience is a killer you must have come through some tough campaigns and learned to hold on and be anxious to fill gaps. Exuberance of youth sometimes shouts louder than the meticulousness of experience.
@coolfusion (Comment 193) : True. How often have we seen more experienced players become complacent/lazy in defense? Think Matfield, Spies, Jannie
@Seth101 (Comment 184) : already lined up Seth
