The Stormers have confirmed some very bad news indeed, with ace young pivot Rob du Preez set to be on the sidelines for up to 12 weeks with a knee ligament strain.
The only silver lining here is that the injury will not require surgery, but with their first choice flyhalf set to miss three months of the season (and backup in rather short supply), Robbie Fleck is unlikely to be taking all that much consolation. According to reports, Kurt Coleman wwill be backed, with youngsters Brandon Thomson and Jean-Luc du Plessis providing cover.
The news for the Lion is worse, though, with centre Harold Vorster suffering his second bad knee injury in two seasons against the Chiefs. He’s ruptured the dreaded anterior cruciate ligament and will not play again this season.
We wish both players all the best for their rehabilitation.

An Article written in what I see as true Shark spirit.
Wishing both players the best of luck.
I dont think we will season another season going forward where no player tears his ACL…sad but true nature of the sport currently.
Both young players with heaps to offer 🙁

@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 12) : Rob du Preez is an awesome oke – I’ve known him for years. His dad is also an awesome oke, as are his mom and his two brothers. So really, I don’t have to think about what jersey he wears to sincerely wish him well.
