Sharks loose forward Tera Mtembu suffered a cruel blow on Friday, as he re-injured his knee during the sharks XV’s warm-up game against Griquas.
There’s currently no prognosis for Mtembu, but regardless of the severity, it must be heartbreaking for the young man to once again pick up an injury after working so hard on his rehab and feeling that his return to the game was within his grasp.
The Sharks are asking fans to send messages of support to Tera. Please back this campaign by using this link.
We’ll obviously share more details about the prognosis for Tera once we have them. In the meantime, he is in our thoughts and prayers.

What wretched news! I feel gutted for the man – an exceptional rugby player and a true gentleman. Here’s hoping it heals fully and quickly!
Really hope and pray that he will recover fully and that he will be playing again soon!
Ag no man! Terra, sorry man!! Hang in there and good luck with the prognosis and recovery!

Shattered when I heard the news on Saturday, one of the nicest human being you could possibly hope to meet
That really sucks. Was so hoping to see him back in action in one of the upcoming games. Stay strong Tera!
I am gutted for him, praying for a quick and speedy recovery.
Very unlucky. Have to feel for the guy. Injuries are part of the game and majority are purely by chance but for a guy that i think was very seldom injured playing in the lower levels he has become very injury prone since his senior debut. Same can be said of Stephen Lewies. I am open to correction on their injury status whilst juniors etc.
@SheldonK (Comment 8) : Stephan had a bad run in juniors too.
@robdylan (Comment 9) : Ya he i wasnt too sure of but if memory serves Tera hardly had injuries playing juniors and club etc but they seem to hit since his debut for the senior side.
This is terrible news and I really feel for him. what makes it worse, is that the original injury happened during a club game
@robdylan (Comment 9) : @SheldonK (Comment 10) : really hope Lewies is ok now and stay injury free for the rest of the year, as for Tera hope they can fix him up so that he to can remain injury free for a while!!!
