For reasons that we’re all aware of (but will not be going into here), both the Varsity Cup and Varsity Shield competitions have been on hold for almost a month. There’s not been much fanfare around the announcement, perhaps understandably, but the competitions will resume today, with UKZN set to finally meet arch rivals Wits in a game sure to have a massive bearing on the promotion struggle.
The game kicks off at Soccer City in Soweto at 1pm today, but will unfortunately not be televised.
Good luck to Mike Horak and the boys. It hasn’t been an ideal couple of weeks for any of the teams, but we’re behind you lads 1000%
Update: Curwin Bosch will start at fullback for the Impi, with Tristan Tedder at flyhalf. Here’s the team:
15 Curwin Bosch, 14 S’busiso Nkosi, 13 Tristan Blewitt, 12 Marius Louw, 11 Thobe Buthelezi, 10 Tristan Tedder, 9 Willem Badenhosrt, 8 Addo Wessels, 7 Zwela Zondi, 6 Sanele Malwane, 5 Jean Droste, 4 Rikus Zwart, 3 Ntando Mpofana, 2 Kerron van Vuuren, 1 Joh-Hubert Meyer.
Subs: 16 Mikyle Webster, 17 Andrew Acton, 18 Michael Meyer, 19 Grant Rattray, 20 Lange Shange, 21 Shayne Makhombe, 22 Morne Joubert, 23 Pierre van der Walt

Best of luck boys! Hope the Tedder/Bosch double-threat pays dividends!
Good luck, boys! Have a goodie…
Best of luck to the boys today. I hope they keep their winning streak intact and that the break hasn’t made them lose any of that momentum they had gained.
Big game guys, stay focused and all the best .
I dont get why they dont televise all the games from the FNB stadium today, but only start their broadcast from 16.30 this afternoon.
Good looking team that.
Good luck boys!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I mean if the equipment is there. Supersport doesn’t have anything better to show anyway. Or wait! Might there be a Sharks vs Stormers rerun to fuel the whine a little. đ
Interesting selection re: bosch at no15.isn’t that the position he gained sa scools selection in 2014?
That backline has got some real promise. Hope Tedder and Bosch combine well.

A win against UWC up next should sew it up…
