There’s some really good news for both Sharks and Springbok supporters, courtesy of an interview with Pat Lambie in the Rapport newspaper over the weekend.
The injured Sharks captain told Hendrik CronjΓ© that his recovery from an AC joint injury sustained in pre-season is well on track and that he anticipates a return to the field of play in May – a good three or four weeks ahead of the Springboks’ incoming tour series against Ireland in June.
“I’ve already returned to training,” said Lambie, who underwent an operation in February, “and hope to be participating fully in training in about another three weeks.”
If the dates given in the interview pan out as expected, Lambie could well be fit to play for the Sharks against the Hurricanes in mid-May, their first fixture back from tour. That game is expected to be a real tester for the tour-weary squad and having a fit Lambie ready to step in would be a real godsend for the squad, particularly with a match in Argentina lined up for the following week.

Dragons! π
Awesome news!
Superb! Although this is very good news, I would caution throwing him straight in against the Canes. Gold should rather ease him in from the bench, and the start him the week after.
That’s good news so early on a Monday morning!!
A+ for your rhyming headline Rob. Top drawer stuff for a Monday morning π
That is some good news. Although the true test of the recovery will come when he starts pushing weights and taking contact. Depending how that goes will determine how quick he is back.
@vanmartin (Comment 4) : What am I missing? π
Excellent…may the recovery continue according to plan…
@robdylan (Comment 6) : Just having a go at rhyming ‘Pat’ with ‘track’. Not sure if it was intentional but I thought it was funny π
@vanmartin (Comment 8) : Too little coffee for one of us this morning. Not sure whether it’s you or me though. π
@robdylan (Comment 9) : never joke about java on a Monday morning!!!!!! π― π
@vanmartin (Comment 8) : @robdylan (Comment 9) : Roses are red
Violets are blue
This poem sucks
And doesn’t rhyme
@robdylan (Comment 9) : That was posted before my cup of joe. In retrospect, it’s probably only myself that found the rhyming amusing. Anyway, can’t wait for Pat to be back on the attack π
@Culling Song (Comment 11) : Replace the last line with “And so do you” and you’ve struck comedy gold my friend π
@vanmartin (Comment 12) : Pat/attack… I see what you did there!
@Culling Song (Comment 11) :
That’s the way to chase away Monday blues…
