Newly-appointed EP Kings Head Coach Barend Pietese has announced his team to face Boland in their first Currie Cup match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Friday evening.
Loosehead prop and one of the few experienced players in the team, Schalk Ferreira, will captain the side along with scrumhalf Ricky Schroeder who will act as vice-captain.
The side will also feature two Namibian internationals in Alcino Izaacs on the wing and Johan Tromp at outside centre. Former Sharks centre Waylon Murray will start at inside centre along with another Durbanite, Christiaan de Bruin, at eighthman.
The match against Boland will be the Kings’ first match after last week’s match against Griquas was postponed while they were busy finalising a team after they were liquidated a week ago.
Kick-off is at 17:00.

Not entirely terrible but hard to see this as more than an average CC qualifying team. Think their scrums and lineouts could be a mess. I expect Boland to win comfortably
Ave CC team under coached. Could get ugly.
@pierre_mackie (Comment 2) : good luck and hipe it does not get to ugly!!!
