  • Some really good rugby this week. Stuck to the basics. Tackled well, mauled well and scrummed well. For me the highlight was.the tactical kicking for territory

  • we did what we had to do, looked solid againsta a team with a few good player, but mostly weak players and now cohesion.

khaya Majola impressed me with his play at openside, his got ability in that position. jldp and frans had solid games too.

chilli is a good captain and a good hooker so its not like we’re playing a lesser player ahead of a better younger player because of the older players leadership ability.

Watching the pumas in this season currie cup, makes me think, why oh why didnt we do more to keep rienaldo Bothma, the guys a beast, his the best loosie in the whole cc

we could have let frans and khaya go and kept rienaldo, I hear he really wanted to be in pretoria for fam reasons but we could have made it worth his while

I love okes like keagan, frans and khaya but bothma is way better. his going to be a asset for the bulls next year

  • @coolfusion (Comment 18) : He did get a couple of minutes, but did not have much to do, seeing as this was a forwards game. He did Moss a couple of conversions bit Bosch also did, so I think that was more because of the waterlogged field.

Only other team I saw playing like that on the week end were the All Blacks.

  • @pete69 (Comment 21) : Don’t want to dampen your enthusiasm, but there is quite a queue of players with similar aspirations, and some are physically more suited to the rigours of test rugby. Think Warrick Gelant, Blommetjies (still makes errors, but is growing in confidence), and even young Duncan Mathews.

Every time you back your team on SB, they win! πŸ˜† If we beat the Lions next week, a final between the Sharks and Cheetahs in Bloem is a real possibility. In the semi’s, it’s 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3 right? No fancy shit like SR cooked up yet?

  • @Uli Boelie (Comment 40) : King’s Park actually has amazing drainage. But with that amount of rain falling in such a short time, no drainage would cope. Parts of Durban was flooded again on saterday, that’s how much rain there was.

  • Great performance form the Sharks in horrific conditions…only those there can attest to how bad the weatehr was and how much water was on the field. So 53-0 even against the Kings takes some doing. Id love to see the Sharks play exactly this same way even against stronger opposition in dry weather. Forwards got us go forward and sucked in defenders before the ball was given air and kept alive. Yes there were errors, i would have been surprised if there werent in that weather. Lambie looked a bit tentative and in that weather first game back i can hardly blame the guy, he still did a lot of good things though. Only concern is our prop stocks…Schoeman at 1 and DuToit at 3 is a bad combo and just doesnt work. Play DuToit at 1 and Meyer at 3 and then find a reserve tighthead.

  • @SheldonK (Comment 42) : yes Sharks needs to do something about scrums. Du Toit at 3 and Schoeman at 1 is not doing it at all!!! Sharks scrum was dominant untill thay changed, then it was a total turnaround with Kings dominating them! With that combo Sharks will struggle to beat top sides!

I would like to know from you which field do you then think would have been able to cope with all that rain?

  • @JD (Comment 50) : Yeah, that game will most definitely be out toughest game yet especially with the pressure attached to it. Would be awesome to have a cool head like Lambie for that match but I think he’ll be called up to the Bok squad before that. Elton was very bad this weekend and AC sounded like his patience has run out with him in the post match interview. Inny will have to perform under pressure then!
