We like to keep track of what our former Sharks players are up to around the world and today there is a fair bit of good news for the front row club.
Firstly, a hearty round of applause and plenty of good wishes to former Sharks age-group captain Allan Dell, who makes his test debut for Scotland this weekend. Dell, who left the Sharks to move to Edinburgh three seasons ago, has been handed a maiden test start at loose head prop after some fine domestic form representing the Scottish capital.
In other news, we’d like to wish both of our favourite du Plessis brothers well on the birth of three sons between them! Jannie’s wife Ronel gave birth their third child – and first son – last week, while brother Bismarck’s wife Anya was not to be outdone, giving birth to twin boys of her own a week or two before that.
The du Plessis brothers have opted to keep it in the family when it comes to names, hence Jannie’s son and one of Bissie’s sons both have the name François, after the family patriarch. Bissie’s other son has been named Gidéon. Now wouldn’t it be wonderful if François, François and Gidéon all went on to replicate the feats of their fathers in black and white one day? We can but hope!

Congrats all around…
Congrats! From your lips to gods ears!
Yes congrats all round!
All three born in France and eligible to play for Le Bleu in 20 years time.
@The hound (Comment 4) : not sure about Jannie’s some but I think the twins will be schooled in Bethlehem and on the farm!
Been a long wait for Ally Dell, finally happened for him. He is very chuffed and obviously grateful for the opportunity

@Ludz (Comment 6) : And guess who I immediately thought of when I read this,….yes, its you. Im sure you are well pleased.
