Welcome to the Windhoek Lager Team of the Week for Round 18. We have decided to make it an all South African team and base it only on the weekend matches. So if your favourite player did not play on the weekend, he will not be in the team.

Sharks notch up a moral victory… Part II
OK. We’re going to try this one again. Yesterday I made the mistake of writing it in anger and outrage. Now, with the benefit of some cooling down, perhaps I can hit the nail on the head without damaging anything else in the process! Here goes:
Hi. My name’s Sharon and I’m a Sharks supporter. A proud one too. Proud enough to be wearing my match shirt in the land of the Blue Bulls and suffering the slings and arrows of several vitriolic hangovers in the process. […]
Pride and passion aplenty
It was billed as the swansong of a golden Bulls generation. This would be the last time the light blue army would get to see the likes of Bakkies Botha, Victor Matfield, Danie Rossouw and Fourie du Preez on their beloved home ground. On top of that this match also marked the century of Bulls caps for the hardman Bakkies Botha. This was effectively a knock out game and the Bulls are notoriously difficult to beat in that type of game, even more so at Loftus. Surely the Bulls with their momentum of six consecutive wins and homeground advantage would prove too much for the Sharks who had stuttered their way towards the end of the Super rugby season. Somebody had forgotten to read that script to the Sharks. […]
Sharks outmuscle Bulls at Lofuts
John Plumtree’s Sharks finally found an 80-minute performance and put in their best all-round team display of the year right when it mattered this evening. Emerging 26-23 victors over the Bulls in a tense encounter at Loftus Versveld, it’s the men in black who will progress to next week’s Super Rugby finals series. […]
S15 Game 119 – Bulls (23) vs Sharks (26) F/T
The big one for the weekend has finally arrived as all eyes focus on Loftus where the Sharks and the Bulls vie for a playoff spot in next weekend’s knock-outs. The Bulls have the upper hand in that they are playing at home and that they are on a six match unbeaten run. […]
All roads leads to Loftus…
Ok not all roads but some 😉 During the week there was a lot of speculation of the options and permutations for this weekends games so in order to get the sharks into the playoff stage on the other side of the weekend. The fact remains that the best thing for the sharks is not to considerate of give any attention to all these things and focus only on the bulls and what must be done to win this “must win” game. I say must win but do acknowledge that all games should be must win games, but here the loser goes home. […]
Bulls v Sharks – Tale of the tape
I’ve got the call to come off the bench by the coaches to write up this week’s numbers breakdown and there are real differences between the teams. As visiting writer I will present the numbers and leave the real Sharks analysis to you all. Will pop into the forum to answer any questions, to keep the debate going. […]
Du Preez returns via bench
The Bulls have named a strong lineup to face the Sharks at Loftus Versveld this weekend, with the two Springboks who missed last week’s outing to Newlands back in the match 22. […]
Loftus swansongs aplenty
Saturday’s big derby at Loftus between the Bulls and the Sharks will, in all likelihood, mark the end of the Super Rugby season for whichever team loses. This implies that whatever the result, their will be one or two big name players who won’t be seen in their team’s respective colours again. […]

Stormers take the hard road
The Bulls and Stormers game was built up as potentially the game of the weekend, only for it to turn into a dour affair with not a single clean scrum, scrappy lineouts, terrible handling (mostly from the Ricky… er, the Stormers) and a fair amount of kicking in between.
[…]
We all stand Together!!!
So in as much as people say winning is not everything, this should be the mindset of all the players. There is no other way that you are going to improve and get better as a team without a desire and motivation to win. What matters, when it comes to matters of victory and defeat, is how you handle them. A mature team will not let success get to their heads and will not allow defeat to upset them. […]
S15 Game 113 – Stormers (16) vs Bulls (19) F/T
The weekend culminates with a good old South African derby of massive proportions down in Cape Town, with the table topping Stormers taking on the ladder climbing Bulls. Should the Bulls lose, that would leave them with no chance of finishing second in the South African conference. […]
Too close to call
We have two big South African derby matches this weekend, the most important of which will be the match between the Stormers and the Bulls down in Cape Town. For the loyal followers on this site though (well most anyway) will see the Sharks vs Lions game as just as important, if not even more so. […]
Legoete to get the red, again
Pro Legoete could be on the receiving end of a red card from SANZAR after his shocking advice to Craig Joubert so send off Waratahs lock Pat O’Connor for an alleged head butt. […]
