Hi, Sharks fans
Saturday 27 October, 16:00, Newlands… that is our main focus for this week. […]
Hi, Sharks fans
First off, well done to the lads on a brilliant result against the Lions on Saturday. I was at the game and had my heart in my mouth for one or two moments, but the Sharks showed composure to get the win, and they will be all the better on Saturday for a hard-earned victory. […]
Ok so it’s time for the Currie Cup knock-out games!
The Cell C Sharks will be hosting the Xerox Golden Lions at JONSSON KINGS PARK on Saturday at 14h30.
Rob Du Preez Sr has made some interesting changes for the Saturday’s game in Kimberley – Rob Jr will run out at inside centre next to Bosch at flyhalf with Fassi at fullback. The Sharks also welcome back JLDP on the bench.
OK so the Sharks team to face WP at Newlands Stadium this weekend was announced.
With both teams being unbeaten it should be a hard and close match and should determine who will finish on top of the overall standings.
Coenie Oosthuizen and Sbu Nkosi will make a welcome return to the bench against the Lions. Rob has also gone for new signing Ruben van Heerden on the bench as lock cover. Thomas du Toit will start in the 3 jersey while Meyer drops out of the squad altogether.
Bosch drops down to the bench and Akker will see some Currie Cup action from the bench. Stringer takes over the 6 jersey from Vosloo who drops to the bench.
Rob Senior has selected the same starting team from last week, with the only change on the bench where Luke Stringer comes on for an injured (knee) Tera Mthembu.
Mvovo has been called up for the match against the Bulls. JLDP has not made the team sheet – I can only assume that he must be out injured. Johan Deysel is back in the squad, and Fassi has been rewarded with a call-up after a very good performance in last week’s friendly.
UPDATE: JLDP will undergo groin surgery and will be out for the entire Currie Cup. Hopefully he will be available for consideration for the end of year tour.
Well, another Super Rugby campaign has come and gone and we’ll close the chapter on that without further comment. […]
New signing Luke Stringer will play from the bench in Friday’s friendly against Bordeaux Bègles, while Curwin Bosch has not been selected due to a slight niggle.
I was reading an interview with John Dobson, the WP Currie Cup coach, and he mentioned that they may use the Kings and Cheetahs to give their fringe players game time in the Pro14 as there are only six games in the league stage of this year’s Currie Cup for each team. […]
As usual the best laid schemes of mice and men did not become a reality as due to work commitments my friend could not go on the trip. With the “Manne Naweek” a thing of the past I decided that the family would do a quick trip to Durbs with me and my lovely wife going to watch the final! […]
As I’m sure many will be aware, there’s been a bit of a media war-of-words developing over the last few days, regarding Robert du Preez’s decision to not select Bok hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle for the Currie Cup semi-final and final. […]
