Southern Kings again without Watson
The Southern Kings announced yesterday that their captain Luke Watson will be out for the rest of the year due to an ankle injury. Watson has been struggling with injuries for the last couple of months, injuring his ankle against the Leopards in the Currie Cup semi final last year and a knock to his throat in their first Super Rugby match against the Western Force sidelined him with very little game time. […]

Super Rugby is back
After a month long break Super Rugby is back again this weekend and I have to admit that even though the Sharks all but kicked themselves out of this year’s contest, I can’t wait to see them play again this weekend. […]
Lions duo likely to remain
The Stormers are set to retain the services of Elton Jantjies and Jaco Taute on a permanent basis. […]
Plenty loosies – fewer centres
The Sharks look set to be bolstered by a host of returning Boks ahead of this weekend’s Super Rugby clash with the Blues at Kings Park. While their options in the loose trio are set to expand rapidly, depth concerns in midfield and the second row continue to confound selection. […]

Two pieces of interesting news have come out today to give me just an inkling of hope for Ryan Kankowski, whose 2013 rugby season thus far can best be described as “dire”. […]
Jean gets a break
The Stormers will be without captain Jean de Villiers for the match against the Cheetahs this weekend, and could potentially sit out the rest of the Super Rugby season. […]

Where to from here?
The Springboks are gearing up to face the Azzurri on Saturday, but before we put our Sharks jerseys way back in our cupboard, let’s have a look at the Super Rugby season thus far to see where we can possibly go from here. […]
Super Rugby Team of the Week: Week 16
Last weekend again produced an upset or two, further complicating the play-off permutations. The only teams who can now definitely not end in the top 6 are the Highlanders, Kings, Force and Rebels. The Cheetahs will end on at least 50 points since they still have a bye coming up, but should they lose against the Stormers and the Blues, any of the Blues, Waratahs, Hurricanes, Stormers or even Sharks could still technically take their spot in the top 6.. The same goes for the Crusaders on 46 points; if they don’t win at least two of their final three games, they could still miss out on a play-off spot. […]
Mapoe out for season
The Bulls have lost the services of Lionel Mapoe for the rest of the Super Rugby season. […]
Kankowski on his way out
Following a tough year of limited Super Rugby action with the Sharks, rumour has it that Ryan Kankowski is done with rugby in South Africa. […]
