We’re heading into the June test window, so I thought I’d prepare a rather tongue-in-cheek article on how our team should look for us to stand any chance of winning the World Cup in 2019. […]

My Bok team to win the World Cup
Another old Bull for Toulon
Toulon’s crazy president, Mourad Boudjellal, seems to be playing a crazy game of “collect and keep” and seemingly won’t rest until he’d had the entire Bulls “class of 2007” in his clutches at one time or another! […]
Influx of overseas Springboks?
Heyneke Meyer has gone on record recently as stating that he’ll be travelling overseas to chat to potential Springbok players. The likely suspects are: […]
Where to from here for Bulls
It’s an odd sight, seeing the Bulls down in sixth spot on a Currie Cup log, and something that non-Bulls supporters would have thought was not going to happen for quite some time. The thing is, I am of the opinion that they will stay right where they are, not getting close to even fourth spot on the log. […]
Anxious wait for Deysel
Spare a thought for Jean Deysel this weekend, as the Sharks flanker faces a nervous wait to find out whether he has done enough over the last month to earn selection to the Springbok World Cup squad. […]
4th reinforcement joins the Boks
The Boks have called up a 4th reinforcement as cover for the match against the All Blacks. […]
Smit to miss RWC?
It is believed that Springbok Captain John Smit has torn the ligaments in his shoulder and could miss the Rugby World Cup. […]
Kankowski, Johnson released
Ryan Kankowski and Ashley Johnson have both been released from the Springbok squad for this weekend’s test against Australia in Durban, given that the players they were covering for, Danie Rossouw and Pierre Spies, have both been passed fit. […]
Bulls bag former Sharks loosie
Burly ball-carrier Jacques Potgieter, who is just one of a raft of loose forwards who came up through the Sharks age-group ranks, only to leave due to a lack of playing time, has been snapped up by the Bulls ahead of next season’s Super Rugby competition. […]
3N away leg – the numbers
Finally the stats for the last two Tri Nations games have become available, and there are some shocking results which have come through, where one the so-called ‘missing’ players had actually been one of the busier ones. I have put together the stats for both games and will report these as one. […]
Mostert gets a Bok start
There are some injury enforced changes in the team to face New Zealand, with Gerhard Mostert getting his test debut for Flip van der Merwe and Pat Lambie coming in at fullback to cover for Gio Aplon. […]
Springbok are finding out what real injuries are
After just one Test match of the 2011 season the Springbok have an injury crisis. In the wash-up of their humiliating loss to the Wallabies in Sydney on Saturday three players look in doubt to face the All Blacks this weekend. […]
Pride and passion aplenty
It was billed as the swansong of a golden Bulls generation. This would be the last time the light blue army would get to see the likes of Bakkies Botha, Victor Matfield, Danie Rossouw and Fourie du Preez on their beloved home ground. On top of that this match also marked the century of Bulls caps for the hardman Bakkies Botha. This was effectively a knock out game and the Bulls are notoriously difficult to beat in that type of game, even more so at Loftus. Surely the Bulls with their momentum of six consecutive wins and homeground advantage would prove too much for the Sharks who had stuttered their way towards the end of the Super rugby season. Somebody had forgotten to read that script to the Sharks. […]
Loftus swansongs aplenty
Saturday’s big derby at Loftus between the Bulls and the Sharks will, in all likelihood, mark the end of the Super Rugby season for whichever team loses. This implies that whatever the result, their will be one or two big name players who won’t be seen in their team’s respective colours again. […]
Taking a closer look
After the 37 man squad announcement this week we have a clearer indication of which players are going over to New Zealand representing the Springboks and defending our most prized possession, the Rugby World Cup. […]
