The first true test for new coach Rassie Erasmus, a full squad of the best players available to him and no excuses about travel or fatigue. It’s the first of three opportunities to get further insight into the workings of the new regime. Let’s hope it’s a positive start. […]

Six Nations: Team of the Tournament
It was perhaps the lowest quality Six Nations to date, yet the Championship still mustered up a barnstorming finish with Wales ransacking any hopes of an English Grand Slam. The English will look back at a tournament of ‘could have beens’, with perhaps the most unnerving statistic being the fact they were out-scored over five matches by the possession starved Scots. […]
Six Nations: Team of the Week Round Three
Week three of the Six Nations saw wins for Wales, England and Scotland. Italy, missing Sergio Parisse, struggled to make an impact in Rome as the Welsh dominated from the off. Meanwhile in London, Chris Robshaw’s England defeated a resurgent French side, who only had themselves to blame for their second half deterioration. Ireland will be rueing missed opportunities after dominating large parts of their match, only to be denied by the ruthless Scots. Here is a look at the top performers from Round Three: […]
Six Nations: Team of the Week Round Two
The second weekend of the Six Nations saw both Scotland and Wales record their first victories of the tournament. Wales’ gritty win was especially impressive for the strength of character it showed given their previous poor run of eight straight defeats. The cool headed Leigh Halfpenny slotted eleven points to put his side’s title ambitions back on track. In Dublin, it was the cool head of Owen Farrell that left England with the only 100% record in the championship – his twelve points were enough to see off the Irish. Here is a look at the star performers from all the action: […]
